NOnsense.....nobody on this site or any other knows anything about any supposed takeover.

There is not one single credible fact to support any suggestion that there is, has been, or will be a takeover. FACT. The rest is wishful thinking.

As for DIC you cannot take silence as confirmation.

It could just be that they cannot be bothered to respond to every rumour. It could be that they are enjoying the publicity and annoying the Yanks after the disappointment of last year. Silence means nothing.

Until we have facts...just concentrate on the games

No it just means there are a bunch of sad sacks on here who pour over every comment from all many of idiots on other bulletin boards and treat it as gospel and convince themselves of things for which there is no evidence.

As a result those who are desperate for DIC to take over (despite having no evidence of a desire to buy, or there business behaviour if they did but) end up acting irrationally to anybody who calls for a bit of common sense

Wow the hostility on this thread has reached all new levels. There's a lot of frustration around with speculation and counter speculation. We all need to chill and focus on supporting the club rather than hammering each other.
About 3 weeks Gary Richardson from BBC radio 5 spent half an hour addressing the question...are DIC interested in buying Liverpool FC? According to him and his sources the answer is YES, but at the right price. He also went on to say that the deal would be done by the end of February. A week later he had Hicks on the phone who denied having any discussions to sell up but admitted to having discussions with DIC about a POSSIBLE investment. Since then dozens of papers and web-sites have been speculating about what is going on and we are still non the wiser.

I see what you're saying. For me I trust that Bascome and the Echo do have 'insider' sources at the club. You're cynical and thats fair enough.

A small shred of evidence would be that DIC tried to buy into the club before xmas - confirmed by Hicks - so its reasonable to assume that they are still intersted.

My personal opinion is that they are still interested and it all comes down to price.

The situation hasn't changed from 6 weeks ago lads, the bottom line is nothing will be decided until the Sheikh matches Hick's asking price. Gillett has decided to sell but who he sells to depends on whether the Sheikh is willing to outbid Hicks for the shares. Hicks holds all the cards basically.

There is no evidence that DIC are interested in buying us. Of course this does not mean they are not interested.

It simply means there is no evidence that they are interested.

Thus no need for the little drama queens on here to squeal like young girls who have just seen Take That!

I'm sure you've seen Cowtownred's post by now. Typical Journo peice really.

Isay that in the sense that he adds points that he believes to be true from a trusted source, but also mixes it with things that are only his opinion from the outside looking in.

This post caused uproar on RAWK, so much so that CTR had to come back on and post that some of it was his opinion only. Journos and bascombe included, do this all the time. In that sense no, he can't be trusted.

To be fair to Bascombe, without his fiction and predictions they would nevr be able to make a back page story out of it as there would only be a couple of lines!

After yesterday's victory over Middlesbrough, Tommy Hicks Jnr, son of the club's co-owner, said: "We realise communication is important but it's a lot better now."

Asked about his imminent arrival in England, he said: "I'd like to live here because Liverpool is a great place."

Tom Hicks spent last week in Dubai and sparked fresh hopes of a breakthrough in Liverpool's £400 million takeover saga.

The Texan has been the obstacle to DIC's initial £200 million buy-out of 50 per cent of the club as he has the power to veto co-owner George Gillett's sale and assume full control of Liverpool.

A deal is now expected to be done in two weeks with Gillett the first out the door - and with a cool £25m profit in his pocket.

Club insiders are not ruling out further twists and turns with DIC also keen to buy out Hicks.

But boss Rafa Benitez hopes Hicks stays and lets him see out the two years left on his deal.

And Shankslegend has just said...

What i would say is that anything that is happening will in some form feed its way back to club (IT HAS 2), now at the club is were information lies, and my source is on the channels that would have to know.

I would love to believe CTR its just am being told different things as there are to many different noises coming out the club and thats what am being told.

Now fingers crossed i may have an update regarding Gillet in a day or say because i have been informed of something but at the min it isn't concrete.

Abit more positive. I don't see why Hicks would veto DIC from buying Gillett's shares seeing as they are not on speaking terms and have fallen out big time.
