And DIC were offering a premium to Gillete which I can't see being matched, so there is still a couple of major problems

One shareholder is desperate to sell up - there may be difficulties, but no-one in their right mind would agree to a clause forcing them to retain a shareholding, so one way or another, Gillete will go

Hicks can't afford to buy the whole lot

Hick's has a stadium to finance

And a loan to re-finance in about 15 months time

I know that many on this forum have posted e-mail replies by Hicks. This is what he has just written to me:

In the end, one person must have responsibility for making decisions. It
has been very difficult for George and me to agree on things (Klinsmann)
and DIC wanted their people to have an equal vote on things like keeping
Rafa (I will), signing players and managing the business.

The Club has not been run very well for a long time now. I intend to fix
the problems.
