hi, have been reading this thread for awhile now and theres something that i'm curious about. what about the banks that have loaned the money to buy the club in the first place, whats their take on it? from their point of view, any involement from DIC must be a plus with regards paying back the loan and future securities. i wonder do they have any conditions/penalties in the contract with the yanks when they gave out the loan with regards futher investments/takeovers?

Oh, i've got no problems with people hating the man, but the constant need to emphasise the fact that he and Gillett are American makes a lot of posters on this, and other, forums appear extremely xenophobic in their views. Hate the man for who he is and what he appears to represent by all means, but just leave out the american/yank prefix.

It's the same as if, for example, i called Frank Bruno a cunt...ok, that's fine, but if i then called him a black cunt it all of a sudden has a racist overtone. Or Gerard Houllier...call him a prick and no one cares, cacll him a French prick, and it takes a different connotation.

Surely though he's just a prick that happens to be american....it's where he's from. By calling someone an AMERICAN PRICK, the insult being PRICK, then letting people know that THE PRICK happens to be American.

For it to be xenophobic or have racist overtones the person doing the insulting would have to hate ALL americans, i mean if Hicks was say Irish, would we not be calling him an IRISH PRICK, wouldn't mean we hate all Irish people.

As for Frank Bruno, calling him as you said in your analogy "a black cunt" would indeed be Racist, but would calling Frank a British Cunt or English Cunt be the same.??

Does he not realise that he already has a committee of 2? Gillette and Hicks. Does that not constitute a committee?

He is just angling for sole control and is being very careful in the PR game along the way to minimise the damage to his reputation.

The board (committee) at the moment is the two owners, their sons plus Coco and Moores. The statements he's made indicate* that he's not happy with even the current board setup and by the sound of it he wants to have total say over the way the club is run. In other words no board at all but him with dictatorial powers. By giving the statement he did he is directly criticizing Parry, Moores and in particular George G.

why when lecter posted stuff by sckair he did not get personally attacted,but when i posted his stuff in good faith i do . sckairs post are legit. everytime he has poated stuff it has come true or been seen in a national paper few days later with quotes ,sources etc.

Football finance expert Professor Chris Brady has dismissed Tom Hicks’ termination of Liverpool takeover talks with Dubai International Capital (DIC) as a “negotiation manoeuvre” and expects the deal to be wrapped up by June.

Hicks ended discussions yesterday, insisting in a statement he was not interested in jointly running the club “by committee” with DIC and vetoed their proposal to buy out 49% of co-owner George Gillett’s 50% stake.

It has led to speculation that the proposed £400million deal is dead in the water, but Professor Brady, who is the Dean of the business school at Bournemouth University, believes Hicks is angling for a better price.

He told Football Insider: “Clearly Hicks wants out now. He probably thinks he can get £450 million by stalling and they (DIC) will probably go to £450 million.

“My guess is that this is a manoeuvre in a normal negotiation. Hicks will wait and try to get as much money as possible by frustrating DIC, but it’s obvious from the dialogue he will sell.

“From what I’ve heard there is no rush of alternative buyers out there and DIC are keen.

“Dubai (DIC), presumably, will want to wrap the deal up by the middle or end of June so they have time to prepare for the new season.”

Earlier reports - since been denied by Hicks - suggested Hicks and DIC had disagreed over the Dubai group’s plans to install a fan with full voting rights to the board.

Brady, who thinks DIC will eventually assume total control of the club, believes the scheme would help any new owners avoid the same popularity issues suffered by Hicks and Gillett.

“If Dubai buy 90% of the equity at some stage or another, then a group, possibly Rogan Taylor’s (Share Liverpool FC Group), can take 10% for the fans with board membership,” he added.

“I suspect that’s what Rogan’s group are aiming for, and I reckon DIC will take that.

“They would get the majority and controlling stake, and it keeps the fans quiet for five years or so, which is important.

“No matter how much due diligence they (foreign investors) do, they do not quite understand how involved and awkward fans can be over here.”

NO, NO, NO.

The board and the committee are different. He has no problem with a board, he's required to have one legally. What he is saying is that he does not want the day to day operations been run by a committee. Day to day is not in the purview of the board.
