the problem I have with the yanks is WE are paying for them to owe us which is ****ed up.

as for the first three points anyone expecting different investors to do business differently is living in a dream world.
Agree with all of that and to be honest it was what I expected. I do not believe Hicks can negotiate us through to the stadium completition where I do know that DIC can. That is the most critical thing for me, survival as a strong club. If they decide to throw money at us, well... great, bonus.

However I actually believe if Rafa was given the normal 20M GBP for CL qualification (assuming we do) + sales + 30M GBP Capital investment (say 70M total gross spend) we would have a very strong 1st 16.

After that we should start to see benefits from the Acedemy/Melwood and Bob's your Uncle

God help us. Funny how a Champions League win last night puts people in a false sense of security that everything is good at LFC

I don't want liars owning our club and Hicks is the biggest liar I have ever come across in my entire life

I know what they said officially mate but surely people realised that that £220m had to be secured against something. Even if Hicks and Gillett had put up £110m each as security and everything went tits up and the entire loan was called in by RBS.

Do you think that they would have sold their homes and other investments to pay off that debt ?

Im sure Gerrard & co, the stadium and everything would have out of that door in the blink of an eye before hicks and gillett touched any of their other assets. Effectively that debt was and secured against Liverpool FC.

What if and I mean what if....Hicks gets someone on board with **** loads of cash and pays off the debt.

            What then?

I dont know how it works but could putting debt on the club been a very last resort while Gillett ****ed about wanting to sell up?

It's not about the money mate. That's the point. This whole situation is very unlike Liverpool. Everyone knows my view on whether Rafa can win the league. However, this Hicks and Gillett stuff had a massive affect on the club and the players and derailed our season.

I don't care if Hicks gets Warren Buffett or Bill Gates on board. My opinion wouldn't change. I want Hicks out as I genuinely believe he is bad for the club and hasn't got the right intentions. He comes across very patronising. He knows the fans want him out yet repeatedly says he does things for the sake of the fans. It's bull**** and it's not good to have an owner who doesn't know the difference between lies and the truth

From the few posts since my last one im getting the feeling that there are still people here who cant accept others might have a different viewpoint, and it troubles me a bit. Look, I want whats best for LFC, and if (big if) that means tom hicks then im ok with that, lifes too short to get hung up on stuff. Looking at all the stuff about promises, corinthians etc. isnt good reading, but im not sure how much of it applies to us.

                      fair enough Sarb

But what if Hicks is just picking up the pieces from Gillett and is genuinely trying to get things sorted?

Oh I dont know. probably best I shut up now and wait until the summer.

I may just email Tom himself and see what he says.

the fact that he made promises to them that were broken afterwards and when his company went belly up how badly it affected corinthians. We dont want the same to happen to us.

To this day i still cant understand why parry got involved with hicks who has a track record of failure in football and nearly bankrupted one of south america's top teams corinthians.

its just utter incompetency on his part.

The fact that Hicks' private placement of his Sports Holding Group failed to attract significant interest first time round (despite its 144A protection) is indicative of how investors feel hes doing in running those other sports entities

                          Using Forbes Baseball review

The Rangers have the 3rd highest debt ratio, have one of the lowest revenue increases and a moderate operating income

                          Using Forbes Ice Hockey review

The Stars have again one of the highest debt ratios have one of the smallest growths in revenue but have an average moderating income

To me this doesnt sound like these companies are being successfully run

Tom Hicks pulls out of trade fair speech
                              Mar 12 2008

LIVERPOOL FC co-owner Tom Hicks has pulled out of a rare public appearance – on Liverpool’s stand at the Mipim trade fair.

The controversial Texan was lined up to deliver a keynote speech to international delegates at the world property and investment market in Cannes.

Last year Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy delivered the main speech for the city, drawing one of the biggest crowds at the annual Riviera event, which is expected to attract 28,000 delegates.

Mr Hicks’s appearance was a closely guarded secret but he pulled out of the event over the weekend. Organisers said it was due to a clash with a prior commitment.

But it is understood ongoing talks with Dubai investment body DIC over their proposed acquisition of the Reds from Mr Hicks and his partner George Gillett forced him to cancel on the eve of the Mipim event.
The keynote delivery will now be made by Wirral council.

Yesterday, Mr Hicks issued a statement denying reports he pulled out of a deal with DIC over proposals to put a fans’ representative on the board.

Short of a for sale notice landing in L4 from Texas, the night couldn’t really have gone much better.

That's what Dave Prentice said today. Sums it up perfectly
