BUT........there one or two people here who are total arses, and deserve everything they get. (not you by the way!!!)
      Absolutely mate,

Shame the way this place has gone to the dogs a bit lately, but I guess it's still better than a lot of the other forums

        No need for abuse though.

Regardless, there were a lot of people who rounded on Tom and were quite hostile and downright disrespectful towards him. This was sad on at least two counts IMO:-

          1) he was in possession of more info/facts than the rest of us and was in a much better possition to judge the situation than most on here, and in hindsight he has, on the whole, proved to be correct (and several people here who were critical of him initially have subsequently apologised).

          2) he was just a passionate fan concerned about the perilous situation the club was facing and yet was shot down in flames for expressing those concerns in a melodramatic way

I thought the way he was treated on here was downright disgraceful, and my opinion of those who rounded on him has plummetted somewhat (and I'm not necessarily referring to you here Quinccy), especially as he has subsequently been proven to be right .

But my biggest regret is that I didn't jump to his support sooner or more often, despite the fact that on the whole and throughout I agreed with the sentiment. I apologised to him for this as well. And I'll admit, the reason why I didn't is mainly because I (rather cowardly) was afraid of falling victim to the mob as well. And lone and behold, the one time I did defend Tom that is exactly what happened.

Lets not forget Johnny_H was forced to take a back seat on here because of the abuse. Idiots ruining it for the majority

My biggest concern in al of this is not from when he made his initial comments which quite a few questioned (myself included but I have since appologised) but after he was proven correct. Even at that point some continued to be disrespectful, question everything he said and ultimately chase him off. This site lost a great poster and as you said it has gone down hill.

On a last point about this site I have found myself getting more pissed off about the lack of interest in the share liverpool scheme, a couple of threads were started but people couldn't be interested, this is a site about LFC for fans and most people aren't interested at all in the future of the club. The thread that had a poll about what people thought of it only had less than 100 people answer the poll, that is on a site with over 4000 members and in that over 20 thought it was a stupid idea and were not interested.

Sadly I don't think it's just Tom and Johnny_H who have fallen foul of the mob/witchunt mentality on here and have decided to call it a day.

As I've said, it's sad that such a passionate and genuinely concerned Red could be treated with so much disdain and was in essence hounded out, especially as he has subsequently been proven to be correct.

I kind of blame myself as much as anyone else, in that to my shame, I was too cowardly and not courageous enough to back him up in the face of the vitriol he faced, when I agreed with what he was saying.

But that's what's it come to on here sadly, when you feel inhibited about posting what you really think or feel for fear of the response it is likely to provoke.

Sad also about the lack of interest in the Share Liverpool scheme. If the people who love the club take no interest in the ownership of it and the way it is run, why should objective businessmen?

I think the problem with a website like this and the idea of share liverpool is that many will not have the funds to pay the full £5000 and many of those will not live near fellow LFC fans that they know and trust in order to contribute in the way a local boozer would.

Theres no doubt that all LFC fans chipping together could buy LFC, but finding a way of doing it so it's not a big joke like Ebbsfleet is difficult. One share and one vote is all well and good, but they'll struggle to get that done.

One idea is for a wealthy individual to chip in with a masive amount and then jack it up so some LFC fans can pay it off like a sort of loan, but at something managable like £10 a month. Of course finding that said individual is a difficult thing!

It's a shame they didn't come up with this idea before Moores sold, maybe they did but realised it wouldn't get as much attention with dreams of a roman abrom taking over.

I also think DIC taking over would stop this share liverpool from developing the legs to run.
                  Forwards.......

I can't see why JH or Tom would be bothered. I have a lot of respect for Tom who was the one who E-mailed me about this site back in the days of K-Talk. Always liked the chap since then. He's also very intelligent, which makes his views good to read.

But I just don't get why they would give a **** about some stupid ****s on a website calling them a plonker. Marky on here gets the dogs abuse, but he doesn't quit posting. There will always be some OTT ******s when a group of people get together, fact of life.

I think Marky enjoys the abuse.

The thread with the poll attached was to encourage peple on this site to group together and try and buy a few shares between them, but there was a total lack of interest. It really does annoy me that so many go mental and wish for something to happen, as long as they don't have to be part of the solution.

I don`t see how he was proven to be right in regards to his "Lost Club" thread.Instead of leading alot of fans down the "The End is Nigh" road he should have been advising patience. The Yanks will soon be gone and Rafa is staying by the look off things.
Still,it`s unfortunate he`s stopped posting but he should have stuck around and fought his corner. My arguement with Tom was never personal and never about his inside info it was about his defeatest attitude at a time when all was not lost.

I think you lot have forgotten rule number one of the internet forum.

Things were always better in the good old days. This place is not as good as it used to be, and it has gone to the dogs.
                            Oh I don't know.
