No its a relevant question, Poor in the league and poor in the cups, lucky to scrape through to the next round of the CL too. had it not been for the Yank crap this question should/could have been asked earlier on.

JRG,
Your very critical of the reaction on here today, but your just going to have to accept that its justified. Fans have a right to be pissed off with these clowns
Too many of those players arent good enough and arent performing. They should be docked wages and sold off some of them. Rafa deserves to be blamed for persisting with the likes of Kuyt, Riise and Kewell.
I'd give him until the end of the season. If we are not in the Champions' League next year, he's got to go, and maybe he should even if we do finish fourth.
For all the progress we made over Rafa's first two seasons, we've taken a step back since then. We're on course to finish further off the top than we did last year, are out of the domestic cups, having struggled against lower division opponents before finally succumbing to Barnsley. We are still producing stretches of poor football that last for months with no end in sight, and when we do play well, we usually fail to carry any momentum into subsequent games. And it's looking less likely that we will have a Cup Final run to put a shine on things.
This is all unacceptable. Say what you want about Rafa not having the requisite financial backing, but I'm afraid that, even if Rafa got an Abramovich-like transfer budget, we'd still see the same product on the pitch. The bizarre team selections, the puzzling substitutions, the negative approach and overemphasis on neutralizing opponents, even when they are of clearly inferior quality and the emphasis should be on them worrying about us--I don't see any of these things changing.
This season feels a lot like the '02-03 season under Houllier, the year we were supposed to make the breakthrough until everything fell apart. At this point in time, I just don't see us accomplishing anything domestically under Rafa. And, unless we have a dramatic upturn in form between now and May, as much as I appreciate him delivering number 5, it's time for him to go.
