We're lucky to have you Rafa.

As his tenure as our manager comes to an end, we should all sincerely thank rafa for one thing. Not his constant rotation or his defensive football, nor his confusing tactics or pig-headedness.

We should thank Rafa for flushing out the true intentions of the American owners. He knew exactly what was happening behind the scenes with them while we were all still in the dark.

Rafa knew they were liars and had deceived us all and he called them out. We know what we know today because of him and indeed, DIC may be our new owners next month.

A message to Rafa - hopefully you can turn around our season which has rapidly decended into farce and complete disappointment, keep your job and lead us onto great things.

If not - please know that every genuine Liverpool fan sincerely thanks you for saving us from Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

    Well said.

I will also be eternally grateful to him for giving me the greatest night of my life in 2005. I'm very sorry that it's gone wrong. For me he's as good as gone and is keeping the seat warm for someone else until the end of the season. It hurts but this just isn't good enough and, regardless of other influences (and there are), the buck stops with the manager.

    Thanks Rafa.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yep, whatever we think of his decisions, he's only ever had the best intentions and he's tried his best, in difficult circumstances.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

"Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to the eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost.
            Justice urged on my high artificer;
            My maker was divine authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love.
Before me nothing but eternal things were made,
            And I endure eternally.
Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."

I think we should thank SG and him upstairs first!

                Great post mate.

Along with the magical night that was Istanbul we must give huge thanks to Rafa for flushing out these two jokers and for putting his neck on the line in an attempt to do what was best for the club.

Whatever happens next I'll always have a huge amount of respect and fondness for the man for what he has done for this club.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

I just hope the dream of seeing Rafa's team win the Prem can still come true....

When Houllier went I knew it was the time for him to go, but with Rafa although I feel the same I dont want to feel it. I like the man, I love the man actually, he has done many a good thing for us, but it will be like breaking up with your first love. Istanbul was magical but the money he ha spent we deserve to be closer.

Let's face it mate, LFC is a poison chalice. Rafa wont win it, the next manager wont win it. The managerial position will become as unappealling as the England or Newcastle jobs.

Every year we get worked up thinking we'll challenge for the league and every year it goes woefully wrong - EVERY ****ING YEAR. If it ain't one thing it's another.

This season is terrible, just terrible. I can't be arsed to talk about football to anyone as it's truly embarrassing to have fans of ****e like Boro and Leeds mocking us. I can't even bear to think what work will be like on Monday.

**** it, I dont give a **** about any of it anymore, these Yanks have cast a dark ****ing shadow over our club. They'll walk away wringing their hands having bent us over with fals promises and bull****. We're a laughing stock and I feel it wont get better any time soon as DIC will be the same story.

No we should thank Rafa. Stevie G may have used his chance on the biggest stage to show the world his talents but it was Rafa's tactical brilliance that enabled us to get past Lever, Juve and Chelsea aswell playing his part at half time against Olympiacos and Milan.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I agree with so much of this post that it makes me feel really uncomfortable.

What will happen is that Rafa will go, and probably win the league with his next club, and whoever we bring in will get us no nearer to #19 than Rafa has. I've said it for ages that I believe the LFC manager's job is one of the most daunting and probably hardest jobs in world football.

This club, as we stand, is rotten from top to bottom. Big changes are needed, in the boardroom, on the coaching/management staff, and in the playing personnel. No quick fixes. An overhaul is required.
