I don't want Rafa gone but if he did it would have to be Martin O'Neill for me.

            Hiddink
Maurinho (he may be a **** but he's gota TOP record)
Lippi (may not be up for it though)
Thomas Schaaf (Werder coach, but can he do it at another club?)
Steve Nicol (done ok in the US, knows the 'Liverpool way')
            We come not to play.

...we will as soon as the manager does...

              Hiddink for me also.

I'd also consider Coppell. Knows what the club is all about (had a front row seat during our glory years), local - which seems to be important), seems to be a depp thinker about the game, sufficiently 'eccentric' and humble to fall into the persona of our great managers. Reading get players playing and into the box too!

Frankly, I would tout Gerrard around and see what interest/value there might be in him. I've had the feeling a while now that he might cast too big a shadow over the club. He's an untouchable irrespective of how much/little he contributes to the team.

Of course, Coppell might get the best out of him...

Then, only then, would Mourinho loom onto my radar....
              Francis.

...."Any team that concedes as few goals as we concede is going to be tough to play against..." - Fernando Torres on Liverpool

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

              A defensive mid for £18m?

The point would be, we'd win.

Hiddink has to be the man for me. Fantastic record at crap clubs.

Steve Nicol would be something different. He knows the Liverpool way, has the connection to the bootroom. He might need someone like Thommo as his assistant to keep him up to speed with everything.

Well, if it's a fact that he's lost the dressing room and some players are undermining the team, then he should get rid of them and start anew. Even if it incurs flogging off Carra & Stevie. No one is bigger than the team.

Fergie did push out Becks isn't it ? And the rest is history. Rafa is the main man for me.
So you're suggesting selling and replacing 10-15 players?

I want him to change his style of football, stop over complicating a simple game, play players in the right positions, much less rotation, and let teams worry about us when they play us rather than the other way around.

I dont think it'll ever happen.
If he does go, then its Mourinho for me, no question, i think hes just what we would need.
                      Agree with every word.

No, selling the trouble makers. Easy peasy.

Let's see if your assumption that we'd win if Maureen was in charge is true. We've been saying this **** for years.

By backing him doesn't mean we accept his failures. He probably is the first one to know where he's done bad. Our role is to get behind the team and the manager, and hope the ones playing justify their fat salaries.

Some of the bashing Kuyt has received in here was also a disgrace IMO. He's been running his socks off for the team. Yes he probably lacks the ability required, but ****ing hell, he's a LFC player still and we should try to encourage him.
But he doesnt change it. What's the point?

I'd still be gutted if we sold him.

As for managers, **** knows Can't really think of anyone off the top of my head. But I think we will very lucky to find one who not only wins, but wins whilst playing great football as many are demanding on here. Those managers are few and far between.
Totally agree, selling Gerrard would be incredibly foolish. You dont sell your best players, you bring people in to play around them.

But if 10-15 of them have lost faith in him (and i wouldnt blame them, given his atrocious man-management skills), you'd have to sell half the squad. That'd be ridiculous.

You won't know if he changes or not. He'll certainly won't be listening to a pseudo manager from an internet forum out of nowhere to dictate how he should play the game.

He's been successful before using his methods. I don't know why he'd change. If you started being a little more patient for a start.
