Agree, it needs the owners commitment. The key thing is that Rafa identifies the role/player that will give us the biggest bang for the buck. WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER CM (i.e. Diarra).Originally posted by AFII View Post
Step two can only really start in the next transfer window if he get backed by our owners.
Step two is changing the squad from a CL qualifying to a title challenging one. Replacing players like Pennant, Kuyt, Crouch, Voronin, Kewell, Riise and so on with high quality players one by one and give our youngsters a chance when they are ready. The Crushing Machine MKII

He bought them because he needed to build a squad and not gamble on a big star instead of three squad players.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostBut he bought the likes of Pennant, Kuyt, Crouch. Why should we give him another four years to develop a squad in the hope he gets it right when we've made no progress in the league?
He should get the time to change the squad from a CL qualifying to a title challenging one.
As I said, the CL money was so important that no gamble was possible.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I was reading the other day the Wenger was personally recommended to David Dein by Gerard HoullierOriginally posted by Red Chilli View PostI am with Klinsmann, I'm just playing the pendant after your "very highest level" comment
Seriously though, Wenger didn't have much of a pedigree, he was well scouted. I'd be in favour of that kind of approach, look for a man with the skills to succeed, not one with a 'big name'

It depends on which players that will leave of course if we need another CM, like Diarra and what system Rafa will play.
It looks like Alonso will leave for example.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

At the beginning of the season - loads of people were saying how strong our squad was. Now though - we appear to have loads of dead wood again.
My gripe isn't with individual players it's more to do with the fact that the whole squad appears demoralised, the whole squad is lacking fight, and the whole squad is lacking in confidence.
Somebody has to be accountable for that.Liverpool born and bred.

Even so, IMO we need a striker to play along side Torres that can attack and convert the 100's of crosses that we get in. I have no doubt that if we had Luca Toni that we would have 20+ more goals then we have today!Originally posted by AFII View Post

the only person who is gonna bring us that league is jose mourinhio!i know he's an arrogant tw$t but to be fair, its good to have sum1 like that when he's your arrogant tw$t and he's bringing in the results! No chance in getting Klinsmann now he's argreed to join Bayern. Maybe we can get Rijkarrd if Wenger goes in that direction. To me the only manager that would do a good job would be Martin O'Neill if not Jose!Allez Allez Allez
