What a surprise. What's the point in ifs. He did score. What's the point exactly? Any excuse to get a dig in.

He runs 3.5 kms more than the average player. It just adds a little bit of relativity to your comments. We may spare him a heavy touch once in a while.

If he returns to his form of last year, and shows he can combine his gargantuan work-rate with a return of 15 league goals a season to support Torres, then I think he would be a key player in us winning things over the next few years. I'd be happy enough to keep him and Torres, with Crouch plus one other replacement for Voronin.

We need a left-back and two wingers more than any other position this summer. Unless Babel is going to continue as a winger and not move up front?

There's a lot to like about Dirk, unfortunately there's more to dislike. He has given it his best but it isn't good enough for us and we need to improve, sell him, buy Aguero
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Unfortunately he's got three. And he starts almost every week.

If Rafa is true to himself then he'll be shipped out in the summer. He doesn't tolerate continual failure as demonstrated by his hasty removal of every other dud he's brought in.

It's harsh but it's also fair. Three league goals - two pens and a complete fluke - when he starts nearly every week is indisputably a dismal failure of the worst kind.

                  Melodramatic...much!

It's not a dig, it's a statement...as i said, a bit of an unfair one. Stop getting into a tizzy over nothing.

I'm not sure I would necessarily ship him out. His form needs to improve and Rafa or whoever is manager needs to be sure that the reasons for his lack of confidence and loss of form were temporary but if they are I think he would be a good shout to stay. His work rate and when on form ability to link with others is good and when the opposition have to worry about him his movement makes space for the other attacking players.

I think to call him a massive waste of money is unduly harsh and at best a huge over simplification.

Thats not to say I don't think we need to bring in another forward with a more consistent goal scoring rate or that I necessarily rate Kuyt above Crouch just that I feel the biggest decisive factor on which of out forwards stay will be how they play with Torres and the midfielders behind them coupled to the type of players whoch are available to bring in.
