Really? Hasn't he spent most of his career in League 1 and 2, a short spell in the SPL, I would have thought (with all due respect) if Karius can't get a game ahead of him there isn't much point in him being there.

I know the football gods rarely produce in these moments but wouldn't it be a great moment of redemption for karius if he plays and saves a penalty or makes a vital stop that helps win the cup. The fact that he would only be playing after pope is sent off against Liverpool, the team that effectively ended his career that night against Madrid. It would be a kind of full circle for his career, after the abuse he's had to live with, I think he deserves this time and a chance at winning something.

Looks like Karius could make his Newcastle debut in the Carabao Cup final, after Pope's sending off yesterday as Dubravka is cup tied (as he spent the first half of the season on loan at Man Utd and played for the in the early rounds)
