Im windering how good Gerrard would have been in our current system.
I am not sure it would have got the best out if him in the midfield 3. Maybe in Firminis role, though?

Gerrard must look at the current set up at LFC and just cry!!! He is arguably our best ever player but spent 20 years wishing the team was good enough for him. He's gone a few years and then JK comes along and assembles arguably the best ever LFC team.
If peak-Gerrard played central midfield with 2 of Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo behind him, it would be simply epic.
With Carragher, I am not sure he would have got in Jurgens team. Does he have the pace???

Lets face it, Klopp would improve everyone. I do think Kuyt would have benefitted a lot from the Klopp system with his workrate. Not sure he had the pace though to be truely effective.
Carra is an interesting one. Not sure he would get in before Matip though.

Suarez, Gerrard, Kuyt & Carragher along with the current squad under Klopp right now & no one would be able to live with us...miles ahead of City!

I cant believe thats nearly 10 yrs ago. What the absolute **** is happening to timeOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostProbably the best individual season anyone has had for Liverpool

Suarez is the best ive ever seen. He was on another planet that season. Mo is phenomenal and scores some great great goals, but that Suarez season was just off the charts.
I wish prime LFC Suarez could've played under Klopp. Its would've been incredible

Didn't Sami have a decent header coming from the back post putting it in the front?

Luis Garcia v AnderlechtOriginally posted by Fosterbloke View PostHe's one of the very few that left us and went on to have a much more successful career. But I couldn't say he improved in any way, he just kept up his high standards.
Also that header is the best headed goal for Liverpool I've ever seen in my life.
Suarez vs West Brom (PL 2014)
Gerrard vs AC Milan (CL 2005)
Alisson vs West Brom (PL 2021)
Skrtel vs Arsenal (PL 2014)
Wijnaldum vs Barcelona (CL 2019)

great list.
I was only a nipper but I'd add McDermott against Spurs in 1978. And still the best LFC team goal I've ever seen. More contenders nowadays under Jurgen, though...

best I've ever seen live...... and I've seen the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Fake Ronaldo, Ronaldino plus our current team obviously. Salah is electric but Suarez was a ****in machine. He basically dragged a team that should finish about 6th in the league to within a cunt-hair of the league. If VAR has existed back then, Brendan would have been the man to deliver #19 and his head would have no-doubt exploded!!!!
It's funny though - because had we won the league that year, then it's likely that Jurgen would never have joined LFC. It is also possible that he would have went to United!
