    Erik Meijer :

Meijer moved to Liverpool FC in 1999, where he failed to make an impression next to Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler. He was therefore loaned out to Preston North End for one season. He returned to the Bundesliga and joined Hamburger SV in December 2000. Meijer became a cult hero at Anfield despite rarely making the first team, and he was christened 'Mad Erik' for his never say die attitude and love for the club. He joined Liverpool fans in Dortmund prior to the 2001 UEFA Cup, where he drank and sang with Reds fans.

But it was only after moving to Second Bundesliga club Alemannia Aachen, in 2003, where he finally regained success. In the autumn of his career, his strong play and dressing room presence propelled Aachen into the German Cup finals in 2003-04, losing to Werder Bremen, but earning a ticket into the UEFA Cup (as Bremen were German champions) and rejuvenating Alemannia financially. He was also named captain for the first time in his career. Meijer also was essential for Aachen's promotion into the Bundesliga after 36 years, in 2005-06.

Meijer ended his career that summer, stating he wanted to finish in style after this last big success. He took on a post in the management of Alemannia Aachen. But after a very short time he was appointed assistant coach of the newly arrived Bundesliga team, working with Michael Frontzeck, who succeeded Dieter Hecking in September 2006.

                Whats Rozenthal upto nowadays?
"Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to the eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost.
                Justice urged on my high artificer;
                My maker was divine authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love.
Before me nothing but eternal things were made,
                And I endure eternally.
Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."

                And like that… he's gone

Patrice Luzi (born September 7, 1980) is a French goalkeeper recently with Liverpool but released by the Anfield club in June 2005. He then signed a contract with Belgian side Mouscron. In 2006, he moved from Mouscron to another Belgian club, Charleroi.

Having previously played for Monaco and Ajaccio, Luzi made his Liverpool debut in January 2004 against Chelsea in a 1-0 win. He made two wonderful saves to deny Chelsea, but was left frustrated when he later was left out from the first team. His chances where limited when Liverpool loaned in Southampton's Paul Jones to cover from Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland. Patrice Luzi has been described as a good shot stopper with good handling and distribution.

haha the pic of him.. he looks buggered!

Whatever happened to Steve Harkness? By god he was ****e.

Daniel Sjolund was another, was supposed to be the next Owen or something.

I rated Steve Harkness...we sold him to Benfica if I remember rightly.

Lee Jones is someone I remember hearing a lot about about 15 years ago, he had some potential but he had a couple of really bad injuries and never really recovered. We sold him to Tranmere according to Wiki. I only remember him because he cropped up playing for my local team Caernarfon Town a couple of years ago.

Yeah, I remember reading a story about him winning player of the month/season and getting a palace awarded to him or something crazy like that. Was back in France with Amiens in 05/06, i think that was the end of him, he was linked with taking over his national team at one stage. He was some legend.

I love this thread... loads of old names and memories

                                What happened to Mark Kennedy?

Didn't we get him from Millwall (I remember my Millwall fan mate kept mentioning it)... then he went to Wimbledon & Wolves. No idea after that. Palace?

He can't be that old either. Early 30's?
