HAven't read the 6 pages, but does anyone know what happened to Rob Jones? Brilliant right-back and did a good job at left back. Him and Mcmanaman were great together. Unfortunately the shin splints did for him

Aaaahh, yes those free scoring strikers who all have less goals than Kuyt!Originally posted by Mr Tourette View Postwatched the recreativo v madrid game this weekend. sinama-pongolle looked a really good player to me, and like baros and cisse he is in a group of strikers let go that are arguably more dangerous players than some of the guys we have now.The Crushing Machine MKII

Bump
Strange, I was wondering about this lad recently. Released over 12 months ago, it's taken him this long to get back into the game...
Putterill aiming for Accrington Stanley success
NEW signing Ray Putterill is determined to prove himself at Accrington after a terrible run of injuries wrecked his Liverpool dream and almost forced him to retire.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was a highly-rated member of the England Schoolboys team and the Liverpool youth set-up but a long list of injuries hampered his progress and eventually led to his release by the Anfield club.
Putterill has agreed to sign a six-month deal at Stanley after impressing on trial this summer and looks likely to earn a starting place on the first day of the new season at home to Aldershot next Saturday.
“It’s been tough. I’ve had a lot of bad injuries, seven operations, but I’m ready to go again,” said Putterill.
“I’ve had a fractured spine, a hip reconstruction, cartilage in my knee, hernia operation, quite a few.
“I fractured my spine when I was playing for England Schoolboys, the under 15s, against Ireland.
“I jumped up for a header and my feet came from under me. Before I knew it my spine had gone from a knee in my back. I was very worried, it paralysed me for about 20 minutes.
“But after that I did six months of my scholarship at Liverpool and managed to get a pro deal.
“My ambition was to make it there but it’s tough at Liverpool, you’ve got to be exceptional.
“As a kid I did very well but as I got a bit older I just got injured a lot.
“Two years ago I was told I wouldn’t kick a ball again and I haven’t played for the last year.
“But I’ve got myself back fit and feel I’ve done well. I feel very confident in my game and feel I can do a lot for this club,” added the midfielder.
“It’s very important for me to be playing regularly. I need a lot of games to get back fit after the way I was.
“But I haven’t played a league game yet so I’m really looking forward to that.”Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Seems he's retired now.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThink you mean John Paul Kelly (Joxer). Same age level as Guthrie I think, but this kid was ten time the player Guthrie was - he was brilliant. Got homesick though.
"Joxer" as he is commonly known as, played at youth level for Lourdes Celtic before moving to the famed Liverpool academy in 2003 under the guidance of Steve Heighway. He made quick progression at Liverpool and before long was a regular in the reserves. Despite this, he got homesick and returned to Dublin where he joined Bohemians.
He made his league debut on April 1 2005 in a 1-0 defeat by Derry City and soon became an integral part of the side. He played mostly on the wing under Gareth Farrelly but has moved into centre midfield under Sean Connor.
"Joxer" has represented Ireland at many underage levels and was voted Under-19 Player of the Year at FAI Awards in 2006.
He captained the Irish Under-21 team in all three of their games in the Madeira tournament in early 2007.
Foley-Sheridan it seems is without a club having been released by Longford Town last summer.

István Kozma was a Hungarian football player (born 3 December 1964, Paszto). He played in midfield.
He began his career at Salgotarjani TC in his native country, then moving to Újpest FC, and then to French side Bordeaux. In December 1989, he switched to Scottish team Dunfermline Athletic for £550,000 which is still the clubs record transfer fee.
There he became a firm fan favourite, playing 103 times and scoring 9 goals. In February 1992, he was a shock purchase for Liverpool, with Graeme Souness signing the Hungarian for £300,000. Kozma would never look like breaking into the first team. In 1991-1992 season he made 6 league appearances, two in the FA Cup and one in the League Cup. However, in 1992-1993, he would make just one appearance, as a substitute in a Premier League game, before being released in July 1993.
He then returned to Újpest FC.
In 1995-96 he played for APOEL Nicosia where, after amazing performances, he led his team to the Double.
Kozma played 40 times for the Hungarian national side, scoring once.

He's a Dunfermline legend, he features in the Legends bar at their ground.Originally posted by BillyClub View Post
...I know it shocked me too when I saw itThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
