Houllier did a lot of great things for LFC but he ****ed up with Litmanen and Fowler IMO.

He wouldn't have been a Klopp player either but by God - he oozed class.

I remember him playing against City and at one point he dummied and sent about 8 City players one way before switching play to the other side.

You are right of course, Houllier had no idea how to play him which was a shame as he could have been something special here.

big disappointment for me is that Jari didn't have a manager that could set up a team to play to his strengths. Litmanen and Fowler kicking their heels on the bench while Heskey and Owen on the pitch

Litmanen > Heskey

Heskey was awful... the media always made a big deal about him being a good partner for Owen, but I swear his flick ons always went in the wrong direction. Imagine if Litmanen was feeding throughballs to him instead.

Might be one of the misused talents we've had playing for us, the style of football under GH just didn't suit him saying that after GH heart issues we played some of the most uninsipring football I can remember (I don't count the short time the Bodge was here).
