Didn't he go for a free too? There were too many players ahead of him TBH but yeah I liked him too & thought he could do a job for us.

We got around £1m as he had 6 months of his contract left. He rejected a new contract financially plus he didn't think he'd get enough playing time is what I found for ya Blood.

Ah hindsight I'm certain now if Ayala and Barragan had been fast-tracked we'd have been shot of Skrtel and Johnson years earlier...etc!

It was the right move for him as he wouldn't have got the game time he needed to up his game. New league obviously suits him too.

He rejected our contract offer, so we decided to sell to Milan for pittance rather than let him go for free 6 months later. Nobody to blame and was best for all parties as he wasn't going to get much game time here, especially after we signed Lallana.

Still the best player I've seen at youth level, but as good as he was, once Coutinho signed who wasn't much older, he didn't really stand much of a chance as they were quite similar players. With hindsight we probably would have been better swerving the Markovic transfer and using Suso more, but Marko was supposed to add some much needed pace to the team

From the games I've watched when he's scored for Milan he hasn't actually played that well. Certainly not to the level he's capable of.
