He kind of wasn't. They both played but then Carragher and Gerrard both played too but I wouldn't describe them as being paired in midfield together.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostHe kind of was. In that they both played, from the start.
Crouch played left-wing with Voronin on the right.
A demented decision. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We played similar formation to that last season a few times and it worked well.

Yeah we seemed to have a phase of playing all three strikers against weaker sides (West Ham away, being one) and it worked well, with Crouch as the fulcrum, Bellamy on the left and Kuyt on the right.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI would have gone with left sided forward.

Crouch on the left though...
I love Rafa but that was possibly the worst of a few demented decisions made this season. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

So if it's just the winning trophies bit that matters, would you have been happy with a 5th placed finish and winning the carling cup?Originally posted by tsb View PostWinning the CL would be ample consolation for our title challenge. We exist to win trophies. I'd love it to be the Prem but I think I could live with No. 6 - I know the Mancs, Arse and Chavs would give their left nuts for it.

Where did i say it was?Originally posted by MattB View PostDo you think the carling cup is comparable to the CL?
The point was made that it's about winning silverware, trophies...the CC is a piece of silverware and a trophy.
So i think i've proved that it's actually NOT sufficient to just win silverware, but be useless in the league.

calm down dearOriginally posted by DJS View PostIn which case, if all we're fussed about is winning trophies, as opposed to actually holding a league position to be proud of, 5th place and the Carling Cup should get the open top bus out...
the CL has a league stucture in the first round pitting you against some of europes finest, the carlin/fa cup doesnt.
the premiership is our main priority and this year (so far) it has been a dissapointment but to compare the CL with the carling cup is ludicrous even for you DJS
