    Like Sunderland at Anfield?

Unless we acquire a goalscoring striker that Rafa IS prepared to select, then next season will be much the same as this.

Its just a pity that Gerrard has to come out every season and say this, its become an annual event, bit like the Queens speech...

I really thought we'd crack on this year but its not to be, next time I will go into the season without optimism. Any progress at all next year will be gravy.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Well do something about it then you ****...

So Gerrard is the problem. He's not doing enough,is that right?

Nothing to do with some players simply not good enough to be in the same team as him.

            Players like Kuyt,Benayoun,Riise(currently)Lucas(not ready),Pennant,Itandje
            and Kewell.

The amount of times Gerrard creates attacking play only to be let down when he involves some of these players. You see him try and do and simple give and go's sometimes, make really good runs only for the move to end up back at our goalkeeper. How often does that happen?

Luis Garcia was the only player we had with that little bit of unpredictable magic.

It's not about Gerrard doing something about it,it's about players around him not being good enough.

I reckon,if you asked most of the top players in the world, they would love to have Gerrard playing with them in their team.

They were talking about this article this morning on Talk ****.

Ray Houghton who just loves to stick the knife in said it was Gerrard having a pop at Rafa ???

Then the half witted Manc Irani, reckoned the players looked like they didn't get on with each other saying other top clubs like Arsenal (Gallas ??) and Chelsea (Terry and Ten Cate ??) had better team spirit.

Between them they contrived the most incredible work of fiction which they of course conveyed as fact.

Can't believe that anyone would advocate selling Gerrard. We have few enough top class players as it is and I for one would hate to see him playing in any other shirt

I wouldn't be arsed anymore to be honest. 50mill and we could get 2 Torres'. Noone is irreplaceable.

                        Or more Kuyt's,Pennants and Intandje's.

Wasn't Alonso originally signed as Gerrards replacement?Do they match up like for like?

If he was sold for 50mill and we bought 2 top class (Torres class) players I wouldn't care less. The Pennant's and Itandje's were bought because of lack of big money as you well know. When we all thought he was going to Chelsea I was gutted but since then the way he's been has just pissed me off. He's a sulky arsed prima donna. He should do more talking on the pitch as captain and less talking off it. If he went so be it. As I said, noone is irreplaceable.

I see the article more like a Gerrard dig at Rafa by the way. Saying that not even winning the CL would save the season is bull****.

Looks to me that he is definitely not on Rafa's side.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The fact that we could even contemplate getting £50m for him should tell us everything we need to know. Selling him would be madness. Wasn't Michael Ballack (bossed by momo if I recall) once touted as a possible replacement? He's not fit to clean Gerrard's boots, so who is?

I'm sure Arsenal fans thought the same about Henry. Wenger had the balls to let him go and looks like it's worked out ok for them.
