It wasn't just one player not performing, even Carra didn't look that interested in some games.

I don't think you can blame any formation or system if the players isn't interested or focused enough.

Gerrard looked uninterested in some games but he wasn't the only one.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

well look what happened to spurs when it came out that levy was talking to ramos, his position became untenable as he lost the dressing room and he left.

rafa had the same **** to deal with PLUS the owners own squabbling and the selling of shares etc and he had to battle through it. its no coincidence that at the same time our form was ****e, it defo had an effect on us which was clearly evident.

I think we were just playing poorly. I am not sure that Rafa lost the dressing room.

i dont think he did either but he still would of had to deal with players worries and concerns about his future as well as prepairing for matches.

it just made his/there jobs much harder

No, not at all. United forums presumed for years that Torres would one day be theirs. Manc forums were full of 'Torres watch' threads and then he goes and signs for us!

LFC may have tried to sign Ronaldo but to us fans it wasn't anything like the kick in the guts United fans felt when we signed their beloved Torres - who now, of course, is "****"!
Maybe it's just me, but I wince everytime one of their inbred cheating whinging cunts scores.

Take on board your other point though. They are, as a group, veraciously arrogant. They believe they have a god given right to sign all the best players, and when they don't and that player succeeds elsewhere, as you say, that player then becomes "****e" and or "not good enough for Younited". It's akin to a small child with a new toy who sees another kid with a better toy, then starts crying and blaming the parent for shorting them. Pathetic scum.

Sorry mate, but he picks the formation and where the player's play in that formation.

And for a period of the season he either got one or both wrong, and it's cost us a chance at the league.

I hope he learns from his mistakes for next season though.

Well yeah, it sickens me to see them score a goal but no more so when Ronaldo scores than any of the other loathsome cunts.

And yeah, absolutely. Mascherano is another player they banked on one day being a United player. I used to work with one Manc lad who never shut up about Mascherano when he was at River Plate. I don't see the lad anymore but I texted him recently to ask if he was still monitoring Masher's excellent progress. His reply: "I got him wrong, he's ****e. Not half the player of either Carrick or Hargreaves"

and thats the point I made. Its the players he got wrong not the formation. He was slagged at the time for picking a defensive formation but it was the players he should have been criticised for.

It really winds me up when people expect Stevie to be 'superman' every game...FFS no one plays at their best EVERY single game - do you turn up for work every day feeling 100% and raring to go?! Jesus he's allowed a few off days, fortunately he's hitting form at the right time now
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

Well said. The guys a genius, not super human. More often than not the player who will save our skin is Stevie G, whether it be AC Milan, West Ham or even Derby.

He is looking happier because he craves success and knows with players like Torres he can achieve it. Remember readin his book where he tells of him, Koumas, Owen and another always turning up in the same kit so they could play together and win.

I doubt Steve and Torres hang out together, but it makes **** all difference. It's the same reason Gerrard and Henry text each other. Mutual respect.
                      Forwards.......

I think there's a difference in him having to be superman every game and playing/leading like a captain every game
In five or six games this season he's been a sulky wee cunt and in the process he's gone missing, i don't think anyone can dispute that.

i think key injuries to key players cost us to be honest.

love dear old sami to pieces and a warhorse of a defender he maybe. but with hyppia and carragher at centre back its hoofball all the way.

alonso has been sorely missed as well.

Scum fans are really thick, aren't they? They are so ignorant towards other teams and players, its unbelievable. The Mascherano thing is a running theme throughout the media as well as the Scum fans (though the media is run by Scum fans) 'Not worth it' 'Not good enough'

Rafa Benitez believes the arrival of Fernando Torres is helping to make Steven Gerrard an even better player.
The pair, who now have a stat-busting 44 goals between them this season, are doing their best to revive memories of Dalglish and Rush after striking up a potent understanding.

They twice combined on Saturday to tear the Magpies apart, leaving Benitez in no doubt that his inspirational captain and record signing are bringing the best out of one another.

He said: "With the freedom he has now and his quality going forward, he's unstoppable. Stevie now has the same freedom he had as a right winger when he came inside.

"He's enjoying it because he knows he can go forward with no problem.

"The understanding with Fernando is also very good. He knows that when he goes forward he can pick him out easily.

"It could be that they bring out the best in each other.

"Of course he still needs to help out the midfielders but it's not the same as running back 30 or 40 metres.

"He knows what we expect from him and he is playing well in virtually every game. Every manager talks to their players about what to do but he is clever enough to know that."
