Torres is really not near how good Henry was yet, Henry did the sublime week in week out against the best sides around.

For me it was how he scored or setup goals every week with such confidence and ease, how he would go past the very best defenders in the world more far more often than they would tackle him.

Torres has a long way to go, especially in the assists and i'm confident he wont ever reach that level however I think he is already one of the very best players in the league along with Gerrard Drogba and Ronaldo, he is improving all the time and will surely continue to do so given his attitude

Henry for me though due to the modern standards of tactics, fitness and organisation and the difficulties that has brought is the best player EVER to play in England

He certainley looks to be on the right track. Just needs to develop his left foot a bit more to defenders guessing.
      Forwards.......

I just naturally resist hyperbole and if Torres has a barren spell next season I will do the same when lots on here will probably say he was a one-season-wonder. Fickle football fans an' all that...
Aye. I suppose he will have to do the business over here consistently for a few years
to be considered great over here, but he is and always will be considered a great over in La primera liga.

Why would we sign Henry and play him on the left/right? If you want to get the best out of Henry then you must play him in the same position as Torres.

Henry is also past his best and on the way down, so no thank you.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

And maybe practice situations where he has a lot of time to consider how he will try and beat the keeper. He is a fantastic finisher from anywhere within 30 yards but he has a slight weakness when he has to think how to finish rather than being instinctive. For example up at Newcastle when he misses about 5 sitters and an example the other way is the other day in Inter. He is a good header of the ball too which is something henry never had in his locker.

2 up top, taking turns to come deep/wide.

That would mean that Gerrard would be less effective because he would play as one of two central midfielders.

I would add to the general not yet consensus that he doesn't create anything like the number of goals for others that Henry did in his prime. He is still a fantastic player.

he's been linking up with Stevie G pretty well recently. I think he's created a good few oppurtunites that havn't been finished off.

                          .
Suppose age has to be taken into consideration, he's in a league now that suits him at his time in life, I agree he is one of, if not The best ever to grace our league, he's certainly made a mug out of our defence on occasions.

If he did return, LFC as he stated would be a team he would play for, but i don't see him wanting to come back to the cut & thrust of the prem. Then again who knows, they say as GREAT players get older/slower they get wiser, Henry would certainly fit that bracket.

Yep, as great as any player is, he can always be let down by inferior team mates.

That has no relevance to the original point - which is that he has to be prolific season in, season out - and he hadnt been in spain.

                              So, as i said...

Henry was the best in the world and utterly world class. IMO, that can only be the case if someone is delivering world class performances 3 or 4 seasons on the trot.
