just a quick point to those that say Henry is "past it"

Look at aging players that have done excellently for another team (I cant say their name) sheringham , Henrik Larsson or rvn at madrid.

People would have been up in arms if we would have signed these players .

The advantage of having Henry in the squad would be the addition of a quality striker plus the teaching he could give babel etc in training

Conversely, Arsenal seem to be playing alot better without him and he is unhappy at Barcelona because he is being played out of position, something which I think he would have to accept alot of the time if he were at Liverpool.

I'd take him, but only at the right price and with assurances regarding his place in the squad.

Unarguably Henry was/is a fantastic player. One defect in his makeup is that he has never scored in a final and he has been in plenty.

I really believe Torres could go on to be a better player. Lets see how Torres gets on in finals for us. Maybe this years champions league final would be a good place to start.

He was also a mediocre header of the ball (made up for that like ).

So no Mr Spanish Football 'expert', he hasnt...
I thought he had done, once.
But until he does it on a regualr basis, it is somewhat premature to say he is as good as Henry. Lets have this chat in 4/years time.
But I will say that he looks like he potentially could be as good, maybe even better than Henry, esp given that Henry took a while to settle in and Torres has taken tothe league so quickly.

I agree with DJS on this, entirely not his fault, but he needs a few more seasons before the comparison can even be considered.

On a side note. I would have only one reservation about bringing Henry in. That is that he would have to settle for not being the main man at Liverpool like he was at Arsenal. I think this is part of the reason he is struggling a bit at Barca, he has been marginalised. I wonder how he would cope with being number 2 to Torres.

Henry is being played on the left wing for Barca and this is a big part of the reason he is struggling over there.

have heard rumours that he does not get on too well with the other members of team

Yes that part of it too admittedly, but he did hug the left touchline an awful lot at Arsenal to great effect. I honestly think he is missing being the main attraction. Reports about Arsenal suggested that this was the case and that severla of the other players were slightly relieved when he left.

He might be, but who wouldnt have seen that happening, with Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi there? He cant have expected to be the main man.

He hugged the touchline at Arsenal but he was still a centre forward. At Barca, his role has been more as a supplier from the left hand side - not what he's best suited to.

Adebayor has looked like a revelation since Henry left, a real goal machine, which he never looked like being before.

I think that in future years, Adebayor will fail to live upto the standards of this season.

Adebayor has really impressed me. He might not do quite as well next year, but I still expect him to be amongst the top goalscorers next season.

I would also like to state that I would still have Henry here in a flash for a knockdown fee providing Rafa thought he was hungry and humble enough. The potential for him and Torres would be unbelievable if they hit it off.
