And of course it's not remotely out of the ordinary that we've drawn an English club. Not remotely.

What is out of the ordinary is exactly the right draw being "guessed" in a thread entitled "leaked draw".
    EXACTLY!!

People on here seem to be focussing on probabilites and that it could be a coincidence, but for the poster to start a thread entitled "Leaked Draw" and then to exactly predict it is far more shocking than the fact that it was obvious that 2 English clubs "could" draw each other!

Anyone see that Derren Brown programme 'The System?'

I bet this bloke posted all the different combinations of the draw on all sorts of forums, so one has to be correct doesn't it?

Of course if he did then we are dealing with a particularly sad ******* here.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Quick everyone, Tom Hicks has just issued a statement categorically denying any involvement in the alleged fixed draw!!

Let me guess, it was Gillett's fault...

It's on the front of Gazzetta dello sport as well, bet they have never heard of nothing like this before over there

Any team to be drawn out of the hat is 1/8, this reduces chances of a given second team being drawn out of the hat to 1/7 etc.

Multiplying these together would give 1/40320, which are the chances of this draw....

Is the correct answer, but it is the odds of each team that was drawn first being drawn first.

I.e. Liverpool v Arsenal is not the same draw as Arsenal v Liverpool in that calculation.
                Really?

Didn't see the actual draw, but in practice how could this have been fixed with 1000's of people watching?

It's obviously a fix. Here's Platini during the draw.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

UEFA spokesman William Gallard said: "He must have supernatural powers. I know the people who did the draw and I am 150% certain it is completely honest.

"You might be able to fool a computer but everyone can see the teams are picked out fairly this way."

Steve Harrison, content manager for Trinity Mirror's websites in the North West, said: "The fact that a full prediction of the Champions League draw appeared on our forum site well before the live draw took place in Switzerland is quite remarkable.
