Even allowing for an accumilation of comments - Mascherano was sent off for standing beside the ref, smiling with his arms wide open asking him "why?" after his mate had been booked for having the audacity to ask why were his opponents not getting punished for repeatedly taking him out of the game

Cole was given a yellow card for a challenge which warranted a red on it's own, he then proceded to hurl abuse at the ref insisting he got the ball (which TV proved he never) and then went on to show the worst example of petulance I have seen on a football pitch, intently making a mockery of the ref for all to see.

If Mascherano gets a longer ban and that arsebag Cole gets away with what he did then there is no justice in the world

I agree Homer, but he will.
The FA cannot punish Cole further since the ref dealt with it...if dealt is the right word.
Mascher may receive a 5 match ban from what I've heard subsequent to the game.

Your missing my point mate! Im not comparing them at all. All im saying is that after what happened last week, the refs where all looking to crack down on dissent! Hence Torres getting booked as well.

At the end of the day steve bennett was looking for someone to send off yesterday so he wouldn't look like a ****house after getting bollocked about the ashley cole incident. it just so happened that mascher made a tackle early on that warranted a yellow card imo and continued to talk costantly to the ref when most of te time the incidents had nothing to do with him.

If mascher hadn't been sent off for so called decent he would have been sent off for another tackle you could just see it happening. Someone i.e. Gerrard should have got a grip of him and said look not long til half time calm it down. But as usual the "captain" of the team was nowhere to be seen.

You would think that players would have a little bit more common sense but alas they don't. I love the passion mascher has for the game but i think it could have been put to better use yesterday.

Ive never realy had a problem with Gray. Yes he's an ex bitter, and if he has a pop at us now and again thats fair enough, i dont think he's particulatly biased, just calls it like it is. Redknapp, however, is possibly one of the worst pundits o the telly. It's nothing to do with
his lfc connections, and im not sure if he is anti us (well of course he isnt) but his analysis of situations, and his wllingness to say anything that agrees with popular opinion, for any game/team, is quite irrirtating. shame, nice lad and all that.

Didn't see it but Redknapp is usually pretty fair and I know from reading this forum for a while now, any pundit who has a slight pop at LFC becomes a c*nt of the highest order, be they speaking the truth or not so I'll reserve judgement.

He was seriously stupid yesterday to be fair. Gray was spot on though and first thing I though was I wonder if he (gray) will all of a sudden be liked on the EST forume

What pissed me off was the inconsistency of the ref, Mascherano booked early on for a debatable tackle yet Anderson comes in late an gets nothing. Ref was f*cking abysmal

just back in spain from the game now. I was sitting with the manc cunts about 4 rows back... ****in worst match of my life and i will never step foot in there again..... i was sitting right behind the linesman on the 23rd minute when mascher was barking at him. He pointed to his eyes implying that the lnesman needed glasses but what might not have been shown on tv was right after that he grabbed his own balls......implying that the linesman needed balls for a big game like this.... i will be honest, i thought that he was threading a fine line at that stage.....i do not think that he deserved to be sent off for what he did get sent off for but i think he'd have went later in the game anyway to be honest..... (i also did not think that it was a foul on ronaldo in the 23rd min either but have not seen the tv replay yet!)

i will say one thing though, bennett is one of the worst refs in my opinion. I have been at games at anfield where he has ****ed up as well - in favour of lfc - but nonetheless he ruins the ****in game.....

also, did yee see rafa and quieroz getting stuck in each other.....


i think we lost the head but the ref was inconsistant.....i have a feeling that we will get our revenge in moscow - with mascher man-of-the-match

IMO Redknapp is THE worst pundit going. It is hilarious to listen to him. Didnt see him yesterday but am sure it was more well thought punditry from him. The first Chelsea game we played at Anfield, Keys asked him what Essien gives to the Chelsea side, Redknapps reply was: "I'll tell you what Richard, he is a top, top player." The man is a complete moron.

I can see how you would interpret my dislike of Redknapp based on an article as shallow and somewhat pathetic. I just don't like the guy full stop, and there are many reasons why, but I won't bore you with now
