Don't know if it's an inferiority complex but we've got some kind of mental block against the other big teams in the league. If that had been a European tie i honestly believe we wouldn't have lost.
I think it's the burden of 18 years of expectations we carry with us in the league that causes the players to freeze.

Benitez's record vs the top 3 in the PL is appalling. 3 pts out of 15 this season ffs. 1 away pt since he arrived. People seem to prefer to blame referees than to blame our own shortcomings and apparent inferiority complex regarding these big PL fixtures.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Should both of Inter's players been sent off? Swings and roundabouts, we were outclassed and outdesired (sic).

                no it's opinion

the ref didn't cause us to play like a wet fart, look scared and overawed by our opposition, a shambles defensively, or make us toothless in attack. bottom line is we never show up against them

Exactly. We didn't play near to our potential. We can go to places such as San Siro or the Nou Camp and silence them but against Manure we seem to have a psychological problem. We only played for 10/15 mins yesterday, and that was with 10 men. The rest of the time we were passengers.

Thats what i don't understand about this group. We can go to Juve's place, San Siro, Nou Camp, beat chelsea like a drum over and over...yet when it's time to play a big team in the league we look like scared children who don't want to be out there. It's baffling

Yep. I don't know what it is about our play when we face them. It started via a poor Xabi pass (when Rooney got the back of Carra for their first real chance) and afterwards it was a succession of errors. We never got going.

Alonso, what a disappointing player he has turned into after such a promising start to his career with Liverpool. He's too soft imo, mentally and physically. He's never really been the same since fat frank broke his ankle

Gerrard is another I can't understand. He should know more than anyone what this game means to the club, yet he goes missing every single time we play them

It comes down to our recent record. Our confidence against them is at an all time low, while theirs keeps building up. We need the manager to instill the belief back into the players, I'm beginning to doubt Rafas got the man management and motivational skills, to do that against the Mancs.

On top of that our other problem is, only about half of our players have the quality to fully compete against the Mancs, Chavs and Arsenals.
While the scores at nil nil, we can huff and puff rushing all over the pitch. The better players are busy closing the gaps, left by the likes of Kuyt and Alonso, who look intimidated and out of their depth. But they can only carry their arses for so long before they start to falter, the frustration and nervousness creeps in, and it's only a matter of time before we come undone.

It wasn't a great game, neither team were playing anywhere near their optimum. They scored a scrappy goal were another non scoring player scores against Liverpool.

In the big games you need your big players to show, unfortunately some of our most reliable players got lost in the occasion, Reina, Gerrard, Mascherano and Carragher. No one knows what would have happened if The Masch had not been sent off, though I am confident it would not have been the second half procession it turned out to be.

If we beat the Toffees next week, 4th is assured, meaning we lay down for the Arse in the league and concentrate on the Champions’ league.

Anyone saw the Brown goal as having a strong hint of handball ? It's clear to me the movement of his arm turned the ball in direction of the goal. It should have been disallowed and I'm quite surprised no one picked on that!
