    Funny thing that word "PR"

It's like those discounts you get at the end of the aisles in supermarkets. Buy one, get two free.

Both these chancers walk away from this club quids in. Whoever buys it has to service a new larger debt.

Not bad for a years worth of 'good cop, bad cop'.

I doubt if Gillett did buy Hicks shares he would keep them, he seems to want Hicks away from Anfield as much as us fans. I really do think that he realises what a huge mistake he made bringing Hicks in, and wants to make it right with the club.
I would be happy enough if Gillett kept some kind of ownership in the club as long as DIC owned us. I have a friend in Montreal who thinks he is a good owner, and everything I have heard about him and from him doesnt make me change my mind on him. If he wanted he could do as Hicks wants and rob the club blind leaving us a dry husk.

He is a business man with no connections to the club of course he wanted as much as he could get for his investment, thankfully he knows when it is time to call time on it and sell up to the right people.

So Hicks was offered GG`s shares and failed to "Cross the finish line".His 90 day veto is over and DIC can buy 80%(40% of the club) of GG`s shares leaving GG him 10% of the club.Hicks has to sell one of his franchises due to the loss he`s took on the credit crunch. His biggest asset is LFC but he doesn`t want to sell because he see`s us as undervalued. He`ll soon have to decide whether selling LFC now will save his other franchises and get him out of the credit crunch hole he`s in.

                  Nicked from elsewhere

                  Whoa there!

Lets all take step back and consider the facts of the situation a bit more rationally

G&H are the 50/50 owners of US company that is, via a number of other 'shell company's' in the UK , the Cayman islands and the US, the ultimate holding company of LFC.

Due to the above neither G or H have a 'controlling interest' in LFC, a such they cannot make any significant changes, sale of shares, changes to financing etc, without both of them agreeing to it.

One of the LFC companies owes the banks (RBS and Wachovia) $400 million, which based on a cashflow projection that LFC will qualify for the Champions League.

Banks do not lend that kind of money without having some serious protection clauses in the loan agreement that protects their money in case the venture goes tits up, this normally involves the repayment of all or a significant part of the loan (The company i work for has a number of 50/50 joint venture and the loan agreemnents are hellishly complex).

These protection clauses are likely to include a 'breakdown in relationship between the owners' clause.

There is a global financial crisis and the banks are seeking to reduce their exposure to loans, especially large one on risky investments.

LFC are at risk of not qualifying for the Champions League thus not earning the revenue that forms a large part of the loan repayments.

The banks know their investment in the LFC company is now at risk.

The banks know there is a cash rich buyer interested in the buying the LFC company.

G is significantly less rich than H, as such G has more to loss than H if things go seriously tits up withe LFC company

G suddenly breaks his silence attacking H for being 'difficult' and that their relationship has broken down.

If there is a 'break down in relationship' clause in the loan agreement it will need some kind of public declaration of this as proof, this has now happened, as such the clock on full or significant loan repayment is likely to be ticking.

This looks like an attempt by G to force H into selling the LFC company to DIC, which will make G a $25million profit

All that being said, both G&H have spouted bollocks in the past why should we trust either of them now?

More total utter hypocrisy from Hicks.

Liverpool FC owners feud: Hicks camp attacks Gillett for ‘unhelpful’ interview

SOURCES close to Liverpool FC’s Texan owner Tom Hicks last night criticised co-owner George Gillett for the timing of a hard-hitting interview in which he confirmed the breakdown in their relationship.

Hicks is believed to have been angered by the Canadian radio statements in which millionaire Gillett finally spoke out against his partner.

Gillett said that following fan protests – and death threats – he had now changed his mind about selling any of his stake to Hicks – and was even considering buying out his partner.

The Hicks camp believes the timing of Gillett’s comments – after a lengthy silence – are most unfortunate given the huge week of games facing the Anfield club.

A source close to the Texan said: “It is not very helpful to talk about this situation, given the importance of the next two or three weeks coming up in the fixture list.

These bits and pieces in the media are not beneficial to the overall performance of the club and that’s what we want people to concentrate on at this stage.

With games against Everton and the Arsenal coming up, football has to come first.”

In the interview, Gillett revealed he had received abuse which he believes had been brought about by Hicks's comments.

“We get as many as 2,000 emails a week,” he said.

“Ninety five per cent of them have been directed at some of the comments made by my partner.

“The thing that angers fans the most is the prospect I might sell even one share of my stock to my partner.

“Frankly, I don’t think it’s fair for me to put my family in that kind of danger. So, instead of thinking about selling, I might think about buying.”

Gillett said his partner had not only failed to take up an offer to buy his share, but also tried to stop Gillett selling to DIC.

He told Montreal radio: “This partnership has been unworkable for some time.

“We were very fair. We gave our partner (Hicks) a long period of time to try to make arrangements to buy us out.

“We didn’t put pressure on him but he ultimately did not get to the finish line.

“In the meantime, because of the things he said, the fans’ reaction has been so negative towards him – and towards us if we sold to him – that has now made that an untenable alternative for us.

“He threatened to block me selling to Dubai – that was certainly one of the things that made the fans upset.”

Gillett said “chess pieces were still being moved around the board” in relation to the current situation.

He also spoke with pride about Liverpool’s history, and said he would be attending one of the club’s games against Arsenal.

“What I know is that the fans and the great fabled history of this club deserves better, and we’re going to everything we can to try to prove that in whatever role we play.”

Hicks seems a bit quiet... he last spoke before the Inter 2nd Leg - so he doesn't give a **** about Liverpool - the fat cunt is out the door IMO.

The FACT is that he can't buy Gillett's shares anymore if Gillett don't want to sell to him.

Gillett made it very clear that he won't even sell 1% to Hicks.

                              It's bye, bye Hicks.
