I do think there will be trouble if we get the Mancs, and don't fancy paying all that money to be dodging my way around the city.
like i said, the only bashing visiting fans will take will be in the wallet

i live in glasgow - its £320 to fly via amsterdam

bad bad choice of word. theres no "glory" in what happened back then but there is a thing or to to be learned and a perspective to be gained.

theres lots of sad things about those experiences. nothing could be sadder than the sneering wilful misinterpretation inherent in the last sentence above

sorry my post made you feel that way. my interpretation of you post was not that you are a naive newbie but that you share a perspective common to many people who probably really got into football in the post hillsborough era.
you think athens was "dangerous". thats probably a good thing. the **** that went on in the past is best left there but if athens has made fans too scared to go to an lfc v scum champions league final then the changed perspective of the post hillsborough fan aint ALL good.

It is the second worst game I've been to
I made a comparative simile - not to be taken literally. I doubt you saw anything dramatically worse than I did but who knows? I saw ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in athens that would stop me going to the biggest club game of all time

Nothing wilful - it's just that the way that you put a laughing smiley after saying you know someone who still has the scar from having stitches in 1977 suggested that you weren't entirely sad to see those days go. Glad you've cleared that up, as to me there's nothing worse than people who look back with rose tinted glasses on those days.

And just so you know exactly where I am coming from, I am a pre-Hillsborough (and Heysel for that matter) fan, who was at hillsborough (though not Heysel - but my mates were), and who thinks that the bad old days of the 70s and 80s are best left where they were. I hate the way that fans are ripped off these days, but if we are going to be fleeced and treated like ****, then I don't think a tiny amount of basic organisation from UEFA (such as turnstiles) is too much to ask for.

My decision not to go to Moscow is not about fear, it's just that I think there will be nothing but problems there (either through actual trouble between fans, or being herded from place to place by overzealous police due to the threat of trouble) and I don't want to pay £1000 (all-in) for that sort of trouble again. That would pay for my season ticket next year, and maybe even the semi in Istanbul if us and Fenerbache do the job in the second leg.

Yeah, the price of the match ticket will be too much for me as it would be off a tout. Can't see all 6 homes qualifying this year. All seasies will take the allocation up.

If it's LFC - Fene I will 100% book the flights.

But, I just cant see that happening. I think Chelsea will stuff them back at Stamford Bridge.

dont reckon mate - therell be tickets enough simply because of the cost.

I think ther would be a seriously good hardcore there and a brilliant atmosphere

21,000 tickets per club for the final, 69,000 capacity according to UEFA.com.

If we reach the final and get the mancs a **** load (women, children, old fellas) wont fancy it so I think 6 home games on the fancard will be ok.

                        Otherwise it's touch and go.

21,000 allocation from UEFA. We have 26,000 seasies...how many will have ticked the Auto Cup box?

After the furore last year I can see the club going to seasies first. Anything left for FC holders with all 6 to scrap over.

I think there will be a sale to fancard holders with all 6 games. There wont be many but there will be some.

Not all the games sold out this season and sales of tickets so far have gone down to having all but 1 Euro game on a card.
