The complete ineptitude of UEFA, when it comes to CL final venue selection, really does stagger me. And i'm used to examples of UEFA incompetence, so for this to surprise me, says it all. Fecking dickheads.

All UEFA want is a stadium full of people - bums on seats. They don't care about fans or atmosphere.

They'd get a full stadium in a sensible location too. Why Moscow?

A night or two in Riga followed by a beast of train ride to Moscow with the lads. BOSS.

You're missing my point Syd really; there isn't a reason why UEFA wouldn't play it in Moscow when you consider they don't care about the fans of the clubs involved getting there, if they did then obviously Moscow couldn't be chosen as a final venue due to Corruption, Visa Issues, and all the rest of it.

              Sense of adventure?

Going to a party hosted by RH beats any two day train journey across the plains of the Baltics and European Russia.

But then, surely they'd gain more by playing it in a bigger stadium, where they could sell more seats and make more money?

There aren't many Stadiums in Europe that hold more than 80,000.

UEFA are after a "stress free" final, where all 80,000 seats have been sold and they don't have to think about things.

It's hardly stress free for them, with fans getting up in arms about visas and the like...

Sure, they dont care, but i'm sure they'd prefer to be without all the flak too.

Mate, you're assuming that UEFA are bothered about the fans. All they want is TV cash so Sepp can wander the globe drinking champagne and planning world domination. He reminds me of a Bond villan.

On the contrary, i know they dont care about the fans. But they'd probably prefer to avoid all the criticism and ****e that they'll get in the media too. Not saying it's the end of the world for them if the media slates them, but i'm sure that given the choice, they'd rather avoid it.

                          For UEFA what's worse?

Stick for picking Moscow with all the difficulties of 'normal' fans getting out there

                          or;

a repeat of 2006, or perhaps even worse if its an all English final. shudder

Is it not possible for Liverpool to open Anfield up with large TV screens. What an atmposphere that would be.

Does the TV rights and UEFA rules screw that idea or rick Parry's lack of commercial ability?

They do outdoor large screens for the World Cup or the Euros - surely it could be done for the CL Final?

You really think FiFa would chance so much on a lifeless Chelsea getting to the Final past us after losing twice with a better team in the past????
