The great thing is if we field a drastically weakened team and lose, then that was to be expected and our confidence won't be affected for the 2nd leg encounter. If however, we get a good result against their full strength side, then Arsenals confidence would be severely dented and they would also have in their back of their minds the fact that our best players are rested and ready for tuesdays match whilst they may well be jaded. The psychological advantage will be ours and coupled with the anfield atmosphere on the night, that should give us a good advantage for the 2nd leg. But when its all said and done we still must put in a good display to progress.

I just hope the midfield is balanced. Yes we probably need to rest some folks but the midfield needs balance. Last season Zenden and Gonzalez started the away game in midfield and it was horrible.

Yossi and Pennant will ensure a good balance midfield. Neither are in the Bolo/SpeedyG league.

bring in some cloggers to kick the **** out of Fabregas, Hleb and Flamini i reckon.

Plessis and little Spearing would unsettle them a bit i reckon. give them a few nice challenges, knock them around a bit.

Making changes is all well and goof and I'm glad we're in a position where we can put all our focus squarely on Tues. But one thing we can't afford to do is make it easy for them, allowing them to win the game early and make changes. That would completely throw away the advantageous position we are in with respect to looking to Tues despite having a game to play before then.

It needs to be a wholehearted and commited display from the lads today.

I really can't believe some people want to effectively throw the game. I like the fact there is little pressure on us and we can experiment to a degree but anything other than a performance full of pride remains unacceptable to me.

Some of the players on the field today will be bit-parters. They need play for a bit of pride and also to show they are worthy of their place in the team/squad. Anything less than 100% commitment is unacceptable, even if it is a game we could probably afford to lose.
