    What's your problem?

We were more than a match for Arsenal today and could have won if Voronin had shown a bit more composure in the box.

We played very well, especially in the first half when we outplayed Arsenal on their own turf.

    Good result and good performance.

Can I just say that we had 2 twenty year olds in the midfield today holding their own against the much vaunted, much loved by the media, fabregas and dirty ****er flamini but we wont hear or read a word about it.

Voronin, Riise and Pennant aren't good for us.

Their should have been no penalties against us especially that Fibreglass one. He is one cheating cunt.

Pennant must go, along with Voronin. Both complete ****e.

Plessis was brilliant on his debut, very composed although there was no need to be so safe and conservative with his passing

The Torres song, with the "bounce", is absolutely awesome. Great atmosphere today.

And btw, people deride Chelsea for having to artificially create atmosphere by giving out flags, but Arsenal are as bad or worse with their American style razamataz:-
              • giving out free foam fingers
              • showing a video before the game to try and get a Mexican wave going
              • shooting shirts into the crowd at half-time
              • the way they announce the players on to the pitch as if they're gladiators; first name only, expecting the crowd to chant the surname

You must wince every time he scores. Another tremendous goal today.

Peter Crouch does it again! That's 38 goals scored or created in the last 43 starts

After not starting a premiership game for nearly 4 months, Peter Crouch has scored against Arsenal and once again proved what a valuable asset he is to Liverpool FC. His latest goal also adds weight to something I have been arguing all season: Start Crouch and he will invariably score or create a goal for you.

Rafael Benitez has granted Crouch a pathetic total of 7 premiership starts this season, which is utterly indefensible. It gets worse – in all competitions, Crouch has been given a starting berth in a measly 16 games.

His other appearances have been 5 minute cameos as a sub, with precious little time to make any impact. Such treatment would be enough to shatter anyone’s confidence, but despite this, Crouch’s statistics remain impressive:

                      Premiership 2007/08
                      7 starts
                      Goals: 3
                      Assists: 3

                      CL Games
                      4 starts
                      Goals: 3

                      FA Cup
                      2 starts
                      Goals: 2
                      Assists: 1

                      Carling Cup
                      3 starts
                      Goals: 0

                      England
                      3 starts
                      Goals: 2

                      Totals – All competitions

                      Starts – 19
                      Goals – 10
                      Assists: 7

Crouch’s goal record from STARTS this season is 1 in 2. Add his assists on and he scores or creates a goal in almost every game he starts.

Combining Crouch’s DOMESTIC starting stats from last season and this season, we get the following results:

                      Starts – 46
                      Goals – 27
                      Assists – 11

So – Crouch has scored or created 38 goals from his last 43 starts!

Despite these excellent statistics, Crouch just can’t get a game for Liverpool. It's ridiculous really, and it is my view that Benitez has mismanaged Crouch over the last year, and failed to treat the player fairly when it comes to starting games.

I really hope Crouch stays, but he needs to be starting games regularly, and for the sake of his career, he should move on somewhere else where his talents will be properly appreciated.

This article doesn't take into the fact that our system deploys only one striker and that Torres has been undroppable lately. On this basis only, Crouch would have a huge task to play more regularly.

I don't see why Crouch couldn't have a future as Torres' partner in games against the poorer sides. Personally I'd be looking to use this 4-2-3-1 against the stronger sides, and 4-4-2 against rubbish, especially at home.

Crouch has proved himself time and time again and his record speaks for itself.

I will only approve of him being sold if we bring in someone who is clearly better.

from arsenal's website, interview with wenger:
"[...] but it is frustrating today because I feel we had again another blatant penalty for us, that was not given, on Fabregas. You can watch it well on television. It's one-hundred per-cent conclusive [...]"

                            ROFL!
what a poor comment, utterly ridiculous. blatant penalty, oh dear.

crouch played great and deserves to be played more! voronin should just have his contract terminated. Plessis looked very confident on the ball and settled in well.

Over all a good performance, just yet another goal conceded from a set piece!
