Who is the most popular player at the club

Last night's wholly satisfying return to form for Xabi Alonso re-inforced his position as my absolute favourite LFC player. A class act both as a footballer and a person, I find it impossible to envisage anybody taking away his crown while Xabi remains at the club.

Quick straw poll to see if Gerrard really is streets ahead as our most popular player...

I am with you on this one Shaggs.

Xabi is a master, and is destined to be one of the all time greats. This married with his professionalism and all round nice guy attitude, makes him our key player.

A small note for DK, as I am starting to get a warm feeling for him, also.

Robbie Fowler doesn't even make the list, eh?

                    Carragher for me.

A massive turnaround for Carra who used to get slaughtered by the Main Stand (I'm ashamed to say me included on occasions) when he was playing fullback 2000-2002 ish.

Some of us didn't know what we had until he broke his leg against Blackburn. He is already a Reds Legend IMO.

I say childhood hero....I was about 16 or 17 when Robbie broke into the first team. I am currently drinking tea out of a Robbie Fowler mug, and I had tears in my eyes when he left us. I cannot believe I forgot him and have him as an "other". Sorry.

The maximum number of options for these polls is 10, so I can't do anything about it I'm afraid.

In true Rafa style, I will say my favourite player is the team
White liquid in a bottle = Milk

                        Purslow = C*nt

I don't think you should be ashamed. He was a limited full back, certainly in terms of going forward. I also used to lose patience with him for his lack of adventure down the left (or right) and his seemingly incessant backward passes. It seems hideous now, but it's true. We're allowed to be wrong from time to time, and in fairness I still wouldn't like to see him playing full back. We now know, categorically, what his best position is - whereas we didn't a few years ago.

I love Carra, which just goes to show how highly I think of Xabi.

I can't answer your poll. I am too fickle with my allegiances to the players.

Don't get me wrong, whoever plays for the club will get my whole-hearted support - I just cannot say that this player or that player is my favourite player at the club as it frequently changes.

Since Rafa has taken over, I'd say that at various times it's been Gerrard, Carra, Xabi, Sissoko, even Steve Finnan and it now includes Kuyt, even though he's only been at the club for a matter of minutes.

They all have different styles and strengths that they all bring to our club, buth they all have something in common - dedication, determination, enthusiasm a strong work ethic, but most of all, a love of football and of all things LFC.
