Hopefully Ronaldo will be off in the summer....or just die....either will suffice.

The main difference is that Ronaldo is doing it for a team that are top of the league and in the CL semis...if we had been top of the league I suspect that Torres might be in with a chance....

Exactly. But a big chunk of the reason Man Utd are top is down to Ronaldo.

It's Ronaldo's everyone else is fighting it out for 2nd
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Torres, Fabregas and Ronaldo are all up for the Young Player award as well:

              Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)
              Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd)
              Fernando Torres (Liverpool)
              Ashley Young (Aston Villa)
              Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)
              Micah Richards (Man City)

Torres is 24 isn't he? Apparently his ability is now such that he can actually reverse the ageing process. Expect him to whistle colours, shout the rain back into the clouds and announce a cure for silliness any day now.

It probably will be Ronaldo but maybe the fact that all of Torres's goals have come from open play where Ronaldo takes all free kicks and pens may have a factor.

                  Maybe not!

                  Torres for me all day.

I think Ronaldo will get both and deserve it.

Ronaldo unfortunatly deserve it, he has been above all this season...

Torres comes in second IMO, but still nowhere near ronaldo...

Doubt it'll be a factor but it's an interesting point. I wonder how many pens he's scored this year.

I think that's right, but what annoys me is when the BBC website says "Ronaldo tops list of nominations...". In what sense "tops"? Do the BBC get to decide the winner? It's a friggin list, in alphabetical order. Tossers.

I'm shocked Gerrard's been nominated this year.

Ronaldo should win but it's the pros who vote. Liverpool had the best players for years but hardly ever won it.
