He most certainly is! Was here in Toronto filming a movie last year, and phoned ahead to our pub to reserve "the best seat in the house". They gave him the booth right bseide mine (the ACTUAL best seats in the house )

He was an awesome fella, posing for pics and such.

Also at our pub once: Clive Owen. Apparently a proper supporter

Yep thats right. Being an Indian growing up in Leeds in the 80's me and most my other Indian mates all supported Liverpool - and we all pretended to be Barnsey in the playground!

Infact my username is based on a TV programme in the late 80's / early 90's called 'The Real McCoy'. Im not sure if anyone else remembers it but it was like a black version of 'Harry Enfield' or 'Goodness Gracious Me'. There was one skit on it where a black commentator was comentating on a England match and all he kept saying was 'pass it to John, pass it to John - pass it to the magical Jonny Barnes' - it probably dont sound it but it was funny as ****!

Even the press used to call it 'a bit of John Barnes magic' whenever he used to pull something out of the hat for us!

NBA star Kobe Bryant has revealed that Liverpool FC were his boyhood heroes.

Despite being a shameless Barcelona fan, the LA Lakers hit man spoke of his love for the Reds as a youngster growing up in Philadelphia and Italy less than 24 hours after New England Sports Ventures won control of the club.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's Merseyside derby clash with Everton, Bryant told BBC's Football Focus about his childhood passion and predicted an away win for the Anfield outfit, who are currently 18th in the Barclays Premier League.

He said: "When I was a kid growing up I absolutely loved Liverpool.

"So I'm going to go with Liverpool and say they're going to win 2-0."

Bryant becomes the latest in a long list of high-profile supporters of Liverpool, joining the likes of Samuel L Jackson and James Bond star Daniel Craig.
