It was even more one-sided. Barca had 73% of of possessionOriginally posted by dww View PostI was surprised by how upbeat the press have been about a 0-0. I actually thought both teams were a bit crap in some respects last night but that if I had been the Barca manager a cleansheet against United at home would have been just what I would have wanted. Obviously you would have liked to have seen something, anything in the final third but Eto'o, Messi etc are more than capable of pulling something out of the bag at OT.
I thought United's tactics were wrong, too defensive, no one supporting Ronaldo or holding up play in midfield. They basically had three deep lying midfielders which gifted Barca their 65% of posession and gave them little chance (after the penalty) of getting an away goal.

In the league game, with Skrtel making his league debut, they didn't create a sniff of a chance and we were very much the better team, without being able to score. Chelsea looked ponderous on Tuesday and don't look half as good as they have done in recent seasons, so I'm not worried at all about the second leg.Originally posted by ELNINO 9 View Postwe played them twice at the bridge this season and i thought we played well , without torres for both games, and a make shift 11 in the carling cup. we will do them . ynwa
Even if we'd won 1-0 we still would have had to try to score as only a madman would send a team out to defend a 1-0, so I don't think our approach will be any different to what it would have been if we'd kept a clean sheet

It's simple really, if Torres scores we go through.
Scored in 21 games; won 17, drawn 4.
Still a little while to go before he matches the record of another No.9; Ian Rush scored in 145 games for Liverpool before he was on the losing side."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

We will progress. Rafa is taking the piss. He's been waiting for this opportunity for a while.
Go Rafa

I think Rafa's like a cross between Shankly and Gordon Strachan when dealing with the media recently - nice cutting remarks and some good oneliners with a dry smile, and more importantly he's still quietly confident'and boy could he play!.

rafa to go 4-4-2 and us to go hell for leather at those cunts, trying for an early goal. if crouchy isn't too busy getting papped totally blottoed in a club with his bird, he will take john terry away from torres, flick it on for el nino. goal.
and mascherano to have an absolute ****ing stormer. with his never die attitude, im convinced that nothing is going to get past him on wednesday
we will prevail
