I was surprised by how upbeat the press have been about a 0-0. I actually thought both teams were a bit crap in some respects last night but that if I had been the Barca manager a cleansheet against United at home would have been just what I would have wanted. Obviously you would have liked to have seen something, anything in the final third but Eto'o, Messi etc are more than capable of pulling something out of the bag at OT.

I thought United's tactics were wrong, too defensive, no one supporting Ronaldo or holding up play in midfield. They basically had three deep lying midfielders which gifted Barca their 65% of posession and gave them little chance (after the penalty) of getting an away goal.

It was even more one-sided. Barca had 73% of of possession

In the league game, with Skrtel making his league debut, they didn't create a sniff of a chance and we were very much the better team, without being able to score. Chelsea looked ponderous on Tuesday and don't look half as good as they have done in recent seasons, so I'm not worried at all about the second leg.

Even if we'd won 1-0 we still would have had to try to score as only a madman would send a team out to defend a 1-0, so I don't think our approach will be any different to what it would have been if we'd kept a clean sheet
