watched it at home with a few lads thought it would be a good idea to run down and touch the back fence to bring barca some luck..... hoping obviously barca would score. while i was there they got a corner...Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post
I prayed at the start of the 2nd half last night. First prayer I've said since....ooh, **** knows. A long long time. I'm not remotely religious - I float in between being an atheist and agnostic
- but I was prepared to try anything for a Barca goal.
Didn't ****ing work anyway.
no goal so thought id do it again.... when i was there another corner.
my two mates were pool fans and ****in locked me out - they presumed i was the bad luck
as every time i went into the garden barca had a chance.
*******s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
didnt work right enuf
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Imagine this, if we go out tonight and with two English clubs in the final, it will be blanket media coverage for the next three weeks and the for the following weeks, we will have our noses rubbed in it for the next 3-6 weeks, it would be unbearable, every paper/media outlet reagling us with stories of United and their great Knight of the realm and Chelski.
I might look for a nice hermitage if that is the case.

It's most likely that i so want us to win that when i'm watching a game, every attack the opponents have i'm really worried they will score, but for our attacks i'm not as confident, crazy, considering most of the teams we play have inferior players.
It's stupid & irrational i know ( before someone tells me that), expect it's all to do with the sheer & utter disappointment when we do lose. But these are just the wonderful emotions football brings out in fans.
Wouldn't change a thing though, except of course for us Never ever losing.

Yes nerves affect me more with football than any other situation, go figure, as the players run out my stomach churns & my hands are useless for anything.......yes anything, Due to the relentless shaking.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostI may not watch it tonight. Nerves kick in big time before these games. I'd love to not watch and someone just ring yelling down the phone that we're off to Moscow
I didn't watch the penalties against Chelsea last season
I calm down a little once the game kicks off, but only a little.

I am tempted to try and ignore the match tonight but i know i would cave in after 5 mins and then if we lost i would blame myself for jinxing it
It's like if we take the lead in the first half, i have to do the exact same things in the 2nd (like sit in the same spot, have the same drink etc.)

Amazing how a game of football can bring out such irrational responses from....hu hum....normal well rounded individuals.Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostI know exactly what you mean!!

Keep this quiet

It's sad that we actually think that we influence a game by sitting in the same spot or having our lucky draws onOriginally posted by REDrascal View PostAmazing how a game of football can bring out such irrational responses from....hu hum....normal well rounded individuals.

When you do all your superstitions and they come off and we win, how you walk around all proud that you played your part in a LFC win

I've got a lucky seat but it didn't work last week. Also had a shirt ritual that didn't work last week. I wore a Torres Spain shirt and he banged in a hat-trick. Wore it in the second leg at Inter. He didn't do anything in the first half. Took it off at half tim and he scored. Then it didn't work against Arse at Emirates but worked in the second leg. Didn't work last week.....so I might try it again as it's odds on to work I think???????
What do you think?

The nerves are settling in already and I know I'll be a total wreck by kick-off!
Have been unable to watch certain parts of games in the past (e.g. Alonso's penalty to equalize in Istanbul - I was out the kitchen listening to it rather than watching it), and I suspect I'll be the same tonight!
For the first leg I drank Carlsberg but have prepared a nice bottle of red wine for tonight's game - and I'll be toasting Rafa before the game as usual (it worked on our route to glory in Istanbul back in '05)!
I also have my lucky pants on already in preparation for tonight's game - just hope I don't sh!t myself before then so that I have to change it!
The things we do eh for our team!
