We need another out and out quality attacking player with pace to burn and an eye for goal. We need a quality right back to replace Stevie Finnan. We need good quality back up for Reina if Carson is injured. We also need to get rid of Riise. We also need for some of our youngsters to break through to add more quality to the squad.

Silva & Miguel would be good additions.

IMO he's been up against it from the start. I concede that he maybe over-thinks things sometimes and can be too anal. But he has proved that against the best (in the champions league at least) and to a certain extent in the league (man U aside - understandably perhaps given their jammy wins) that he is tactically very good. SO who would lead us to the title with 'far more resources'. FFS you answered your own question - no-one. Give him one more summer and one more season and then judge. Anyway this has been done to ****ing death, who gives a **** what either of us think. Judge at the end of next season

The last thing we need is a new manager.

We then spend another 5 years in transition with players coming and going whilst other teams above us push on and those beneath us improve and go ahead of us.

Give Rafa the money to buy some quality and get rid of the dead wood in the team.

Around Europe stats demonstrate in the big leagues that managers who win titles with new clubs do so in the first 3 seasons of joining them. Certainly since the turn of the millenium the 36 titles that have been won by teams in Italy, Spain, England and Germany only one was picked up by a manager that had been at his club longer than 3 years without winning the title.

We need a manager who will over-achieve with us in the league, perhaps at the expense of Europe if that is what it takes. We need a manager who has a favourite word that isn't "compact".
