Ohh my God have we went back to December time somehow? Was all rosy and everyone happy until we got beat by Chelsea in the semi final of the Champs League. Some people need to wise up.

First team we should defo keep:

Skittles, Agger, Carra, Gerrard, Mascher, Babel, Torres

      Squad: Fabio, Arbeloa

That's it for me. Everyone else is fair game.

I thought we had a world class keeper this time last year, but now I'm not so sure.

Left back - Not required - we have Insua
Right back - Rafhinia & Aaron Ramsey
        Xabi replacement - Barry
Left winger - Not required - we have Babel
Right winger/Attacking midfielder/striker - This year's big name buy - Ribery? How is Joaquin doing these days?
Another striker - If DIC come in, then a big name. If Hicks is still here, just replace Voronin with one of our youngsters for experience.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

I hope we sign a world class RB, LB, RW and CF. That will do for me.

So, bring in the likes of Alves, Barry, Joaquin, SWP, Quaresma, Villa, Eto'o, Henry. That is the level of player we must be looking at.

All the above need to be comfortable on the ball, skillful, have power and pace and can pass the ball to a team mate.
If that's what we need to challenge for the title, after 4 years in charge do you think Rafa has failed? Because I think in league terms he probably has

I don't think I want him sacked but a bit of realisation that we don't need squad players anymore and we need top quality would be good from him and shows that he's learnt where we are going wrong.

Most of our team is just not good enough at the very top level. It is that simple IMO.

Until we have at least 6 or 7 world class performers on the level of Torres and Mascherano we will always struggle to break into the top 2 or 3 in the league.

Rafa must be able to sign his No.1 targets. If he does and still we fail, then and only then will I question Rafa.

Season is over. Perspective changes to cover whole season, including the 2007 part of the seaon. And rightly so.

                  here are my changes...

reina - i know this may be a surprise to some but he has never convinced me he's a top keeper. For the vast majority of games he has been protected by our defence and can sometimes look very very dodgy especially on crosses. Should never have been beaten at his near post last night by drogba for the first goal.

replacement - joe hart from man city (this guy is going to be very good)

arbeloa - doesnt look comfortable in the big games, and isnt particularly good at defending and isnt particularly good at attacking. Got caught out for the through ball to kalou and lacks positional sense - but what do you expect for £2.5m

                  replacement - daniel alves

riise - hasnt been good enough for a long time and was more suited to houlliers long ball game. Doesnt look comfortable going forward and seems to lack intelligence. Just a very limited player all round.

                  replacement - philip lahm

xabi alonso - i think he want to go back to spain and I think that will happen this summer. A hugely talented player who has graced anfield but his time is now up and alonso will be moved on. Gerrard will move back into midfield with masher and we will revert to a 4-4-2 formation.

replacement - michael johnson (very promising player and english too)

kewell - its over for harry and no-one will be sadder than me to see him go. When we signed him i was singing his 'prince of liverpool' song for a week but injuried have destroyed what should have been a glittering career.

                  replacement - david silva

jermaine pennant - proved once again he isnt good enough at the highest level. His crosses arent anywhere near precise enough and doesnt do enough in the game.

replacement - david bentley (with alves behind him he isnt expected to beat 3 players and score brilliant goals - would link up very well with alves' powerful running)

yossi benayoun - did well for the torres goal last night but doesnt seem to do enough in games. Yes that run was brilliant but doesnt do it consistently and isnt a goal threat despite his return of 10 or 11 goals (but i think he has only scored in 3 or 4 games)

                  replacement - simao sabrosa

dirk kuyt - if awards were given for most hard working player of the year then our dirk would win hands down every year. The guy never stops running and his committment cannot be doubted. Unfortunately, he doesnt have enough quality to go with his endeavour.

                  replacement - sergio aguero

I hope DIC are watching because unless hicks is going to sell his kidneys, lungs and testicles i dont think he will be able to afford them.

We've gotta get more in the final third, need a winger that can take players on, not just run with the ball!
Couple of wing backs would come in handy as well!

Generally agree with that EXCEPT Reina who is a great keeper IMO.

not sure loop - he had a very dodgy spell against united when we lost 3-0, he shouldnt have been beated by drogba at his near post in the first half. Has never convinced me and whenever the ball comes into the box i am always on edge. I would go for hart because he is already a very good keeper and being english this would be good for the team.

Reina has had some good games but he does flap a lot.

Hart would be a great addition and serious competition for Reina so i would definitely be happy with that signing.

Pepe has been immense in some games as well - notably the CL semi last year and the Cup Final. He has had some howlers but overall I think he is superb and he also sets up so many great counter attacks. Sorry but we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

                            Im hoping we sign:

                            Left Back
                            Right Bak
                            Right Winger
                            Striker

and a replacement for Alonso it look like.

Who would you fellas want as new full-backs? Is there any chance we could get Lahm. Also iv seen Rafhinia name mentioned in the press a few times, but to be honest i know nothing about him.

your mad we need to improve in many places but keeper is not one of them. i've seen hart play lots, many of my friends are city fans - he ain't all that, most significantly he does not command his box at all, reminds me of kirkland - good shot stopper but thats it, goalkeepers need to be much more than now
replacement - joe hart from man city (this guy is going to be very good)

of our right backs its finnan that needs replacing first. arbeloa is exactly what we need as a squad player
                              replacement - daniel alves

riise - hasnt been good enough for a long time and was more suited to houlliers long ball game. Doesnt look comfortable going forward and seems to lack intelligence. Just a very limited player all round.

agree although the chances of getting lahm are low, if we have big money to spend i can only see us buying one expensive fullback not two. in such case i'd rather spend on right back and let aurelio and insua compete on the left

xabi alonso - i think he want to go back to spain and I think that will happen this summer. A hugely talented player who has graced anfield but his time is now up and alonso will be moved on. Gerrard will move back into midfield with masher and we will revert to a 4-4-2 formation.

don't give a **** if they're english, how often have you seen johnson play? i'd fight to keep alonso he's better than michael 'english over-rated and over-priced' johnson all day long, infact my city friends are looking forward to some dumb **** paying over the top for this english talent

kewell - its over for harry and no-one will be sadder than me to see him go. When we signed him i was singing his 'prince of liverpool' song for a week but injuried have destroyed what should have been a glittering career.

                              replacement - david silva
i'd like to see silva play for us but he is a lightweight

jermaine pennant - proved once again he isnt good enough at the highest level. His crosses arent anywhere near precise enough and doesnt do enough in the game.

replacement - david bentley (with alves behind him he isnt expected to beat 3 players and score brilliant goals - would link up very well with alves' powerful running)

should never have bought mid table **** like pennant, which of course brings me to my feelings of bentley

yossi benayoun - did well for the torres goal last night but doesnt seem to do enough in games. Yes that run was brilliant but doesnt do it consistently and isnt a goal threat despite his return of 10 or 11 goals (but i think he has only scored in 3 or 4 games)

                              replacement - simao sabrosa
yossi's a strange one - he does make things happen but just isn't at the high level we need, good squad player though - as for sabrosa i don't think we'll buy both silva and him

dirk kuyt - if awards were given for most hard working player of the year then our dirk would win hands down every year. The guy never stops running and his committment cannot be doubted. Unfortunately, he doesnt have enough quality to go with his endeavour.

                              replacement - sergio aguero
100% agree although i think rafa values dirk more than most of us. i'd happily sell him - failed striker (as in the position we bought him for) if all we signed in the summer ws aguero i'd be content

I also think Crouch is gone and voronin needs to be given away - david villa for me
                              so dream signings for me
                              one of alves, lahm.
                              xabi stays and fights
a world class winger (not sure silva and simao or strong enough)
                              aguero
                              villa

as i've said before if all we bought was 1 of the above i'd be content, 2 and i'd be overjoyed

I agree. Reina was immense last night, we should hang on to him for dear life. Joe Hart has a decent season and some folks are clamouring all over him. Some people on here play too much Football manager and think that we have empty pockets. Loops list above would cost hundreds of millions, its just not going to happen.

So we lost last night. There is some serious knee jerking on here today. We have a good squad and we need a few replacements at full back and on the wing. Thats about it. Or rather, that will be about it because we aren't super rich.

And the people calling for Rafa to be sacked are asking for another three years of rebuilding and readjustment. Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
