    So many

Diouf, Diomede, Biscan, Smicer, Kewell, Cheyrou, Kirkland, Morientes.

That's before I start getting into Leonhardsen and Paul Stewart.

Anyway, my number 1 would be Ziege.

He was a world class left wingback who couldn't play for toffee when he came here

Oh crikey, Ziege, I'd forgotten about him, that's an excellent shout RC.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young?

To some extent Stanley Victor Collymore was out most disappointing signing. Remember him and Fowler in their first season together? Absolutely outstanding. If that partnership had stayed together we'd have won the league .

He had all the talent in the world it's just a shame his head was not in the right place.

          Yep.

In a way, Torres reminds me of Collymore. Different players of course but they both had/have everything - pace, strength, finishing, heading, touch, technique....the ****ing lot. Collymore could've been our Torres a decade earlier (alongside God).

Ziege is a good call, had big expectations for him as well

Disagree about Biscan and Smicer, but proberly because I diden't expect much before hand. Actually think they did well for a couple of seasons, but not good enough in the end...

morientes was **** hot at madrid, almost single handedly took monaco to CL final, but couldn't even complete a pass whilst here. i was really really excited when he signed. thought he was the first "Galactico" of lfc and would be the one who bridged the gap to the top teams at the time. but he was a complete failure for us. and then he went to valencia and for a whlie at least, rediscovered his golden touch. total failure IMO for us.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I would just like to point out that on Koptalk I was adamant that Morientes would be **** and got slated for it. I was right :-)

I think Pongolle and certainly Le Tallec could be thrown into this debate for disappointing signings.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I'll never forget El Moro's header against Fulham, proper centre forward's header that. Shame he never lived up to his billing

Lets not forget the likes of Kvarme, Babb, Kozma, Picnik.

I can forgive Smicer for all his poor performances after his role in Istanbul
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
