We were inconsistent at the start of the season. But not now.

Of late yes. We've been very consistent during the last 3 months. We missed the boat at the end of December and January and our home record let us down. Too many draws which if turned into wins, would have put us right up there.

I feel we're very close. Very very close.

          spot on there mate

i truly believe that a settled boardroom/ownership situation would of bought us much closer this year, not that we were that far off.

this is the best side we've had for nearly 2 decdes

Results against top three haven't been that bad have they? I think really it is our failure to gain a point from United that you are thinking of. Two draws with Chelsea and Arsenal in the league and the first one of those was gifted to Chelsea by the ref. Not saying we can't do better but I really think the number of home draws is a much bigger problem as getting a lot of points against the top 3 is always unlikely. The real negative being a consistent lack of guile against packed defenses.

I agree with all your positives and would add that during the second half of the season we saw the emergence of occasional rapid counter attacks which I think is an area of our game we have lacked for a while.

For years there has been the argument that so and so would have been better if he was played in his best position or if he had played more often, but Torres is a prime example of if you are good enough then you can make that position your own.

Rafa gets a lot of criticism for his treatment of Crouch, but he is competing for a place alongside one of the best strikers in Europe. Rafa stuck with Crouch when he arrived even though he never scored a goal for months, and he has offered him a new contract. The only way Crouch will play more regularly is if we change our formation to suit him, which is never going to happen.

In a lot of sides he would be a regular, and if that's what he wants, then best of luck to him. But he would not play regularly, for Arsenal, Chelsea or United, and I don't see why it should be any different at Liverpool.

I like Crouch a lot and I think he has been an excellent signing for us, but in our current line-up and formation he is not good enough to be in the starting 11.

3 attempts at a stadium and not a shovel in the ground yet, Arsenal would have built a ****ing city by now, even Wembly was quicker

A lot of the early season inconsistency can be attributed to not only the chopping and changing of players, but the chopping and changing of systems.

Now we have the 423122344321131 system in place, even if we make changes, the people coming in know what they are doing and it is having the effect that freshness to the side should bring i.e. positive results.
