3rd or 4th for us again next year I suspect. Mancs will overtake us soon in terms of league titles but we'll smash up their toilets again. Swings and roundabouts.

For all his obvious faults and failings, and despite the fact I'll probably be lynched for such a comment, could Hicks' comments about Parry bear some truth..?

Whilst I know it wasn't Parry's money to spend, Moores quite clearly never stumped up the money Rafa needed to bring in the quality required to build a side who could even consider a title challenge, but is Parry equally culpable..?

Hicks' suggestion that Parry's mis-management have left Liverpool years behind clubs such as the Scum & the Arse could well have several plausible justifications. One being that in the 15 years or so that Moores & Parry ruled the roost, there was never any attempt to capatalise on any "on the field" success or obvious "off the field" marketing opportunities. The treble winning side could on it's own merits have brought in several sponsors to the club each willing to invest in a successful and globally recognised club. The Champions League winning side in 2005 was an even more opportune time to cash in on this success, yet what happened..? Not only was there no further investment, Parry's stalling nearly lost us our captain and lynchpin of midfield, Gerrard. It is for this reason that the money has simply not been available for £40m spending sprees each year during the summer months, and why with even a bit of business acumen Parry could have ensured that this burden should not fall soley on the Chairman. Granted it's the Chairman's role to run the club and invest money where needed, but then what was Parry's role..? To spend Moore's money..? Surely not. A Chief Exec should be looking to capatalise on any investment opportunities to move the club forward and it's no suprise that whilst this hasn't been happening we've been left further behind with a smaller stadium and smaller spending power than the Scum & the Arse...

DIC maybe the way forward, but you have to feel that they wont be in it just for the fans or the club. They're an investment company and for their investment they'll be expecting a significant return. Expect to see higher ticket prices and more than the two sponsors because it will happen, but it should have happened at least 10 years ago and we wouldn't now be facing the possibility of losing our 18 league record.

Let's not bring realism into it. I was having a laugh at all the bull****.

Rafa has to spend wiser than he's ever done before this summer, he deserves one more season to see if he can muster up a title challenge - if not then it will deffo be 'goodbye Rafa' next summer.
