When you travel you don't have to fast so the Gala players tonight won't be affected by Ramadan.

As for being observant muslims, I'm sure they're a mixed bag. Some fasting because they are 'good' muslims, some fasting because they want to be seen as 'good' muslims and others who don't give a f*ck.

Thanks for the response to my earlier query - but how far do you have to travel to be excused?

This thread was interesting, in that it taught me a bit more about Ramadan, but it's got **** all to do with football. People forget that Momo is superhuman anyway, so even if fasting has a negative effect on his body, he'll still outplay half of the midfielders in the Premiership and in our CL group.

There are clear exceptions to fasting, and some of those exceptions require that they make up those lost days of fasting when they are able to, or otherwise they give to those in need. People who have to cover large distances, pregnant women, people whose illness would worsen if they fasted, young children, women on the blob, breast feeding women and a whole load of others are excused from fasting.

Yes there are clear exceptions but Momo is fit and able and not travelling, meaning he should be keeping the fast. The user asked if the fasts could be done another time, ie. when the football season ends? I was answering that particular question in itself if u know what i mean. Yes, he is able to make up lost fasts but missing the whole month and making up for it another time because he's playing football would not be seen as a valid reason.

Surely you're not saying that's the only answer, are you? It seems to me that "he needs to" stop being a dick and to treat other people with respect. Whether Islam is the only path to that seems arguable in my opinion.

G man , its only illegal to drink water in a public place. Imagine that all around you people are fasting (as they are in Saudi) and you are having a swig of ice cold water in public. To the ordinary Saudi it would seem like you are in THEIR country and you are taking the p*ss by drinking in front of them when you know that they are all fasting. Bear in mind that some Saudis may not be fasting, but they wont go outdoors and drink water in public. Just try and understand the situation please.
