Roma have announced that Liverpool have agreed to let them hold talks with John Arne Riise over his potential move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Reports in both the English and Italian media claim that the Norwegian left-back is close to completing his switch to the Giallorossi.
This has now been confirmed by the club who admit that they are working hard to land their transfer target.
A statement on the club’s official website reads:
“In light of recent negotiations with Liverpool over the purchase of John Arne Riise on a permanent basis, Roma can now confirm that we have received permission from the English club to talk with the player’s agent to see if we can reach an economic agreement and, if this happens, arrange a medical for the player.”
The Giallorossi seem set to capture Riise and reports claim he will sign a four year deal and that Roma will pay around €8m for the player.
Riise would be a welcome addition for Luciano Spalletti’s side as they continue to strengthen for next season.
Salvatore Landolina
I for one wont miss him.
