I missed that one! Had been sent to the bar, just managed to look up through the mass of heads staring at the big screen to see the ball hit the back of the Barca net. Cue madness. Everyone showered in beer (including some women in very tight tops ) and hugging everyone in sight. I look up to see the barmaid holding my three pints, not a drop spilt. I paid, gave her a kiss, and went on my merry way.

Five minutes later: "Who scored by the way?"

The guy has given a good few years service and has been a decent player for us, his form hasn't been the greatest over the last year or so but people shouldn't be so harsh in their critisism.

IMO we should thank him for his service and wish him well for therest of his career (except against us obviously )

Exactly. His good performances far outweigh his bad ones since he joined us yet people still slag him off. Some of these same people are the ones who are gutted at the loss of Xabi "one season wonder" Alonso!!! The mind boggles.

I've been a (very) harsh critic of his and am of the opinion he was not anywhere near the required the standard for the club. But now he's left it's all pretty moot.

The truth is when you look at the cold hard facts, he's been an excellent servant to the club - a foreigner who has spent 7 years here, 347 appearances, 31 goals and FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League winners medals. It's a record that speaks for itself. I hope he adds to his trophy haul in Roma, where I wish him all the best.

Nice! I was trying hard to get tickets to that game, had to work the day in the end. Bet it was awesome. Would love to get to that stadium

there's a nice interview with him speaking on Channel Roma. Thing is he's speaking in English but they dub Italian over his voice so you have no ****in' clue what he's saying half the time. Worth a watch though, especially if you know some Italian.
