Spurs mightn't be that much of a threat if they sell their entire strikeforce, which has been their main strength in recent seasons.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostSpurs are a threat to us IMO. Citeh? Meh.
And if Keane does join us it'll be a big blow to them as he's been their most important player for the past few seasons.
I think the Bitters could be closest to Champions League again this season provided they make a few decent signings.A humble guy with healthy desire.

We started the season well but then started having stupid draws then he bought Skrtel in and we were more solid at the back and finished the season well. He has also agreed deals for Deggan and Dossina and he's sold JAR which he clearly thought was a week link. Agger is also back and ready to play and Rafa has also brought in Pellegrino as his first team coach who was a massive influence in people like Carra, Sami and Finnan understanding the zonal marking system. Rafa also said earlier on in the week that this is an area that we need to improve on it is something that everyone at the club is aware of.
I think you should hold your horses a little with regards to transfers we couldn't officially sign anyone until yesterday anyway is it not better to wait a little until you start mouthing off?
I'm hardly "mouthing off"!
I'm just expressing my opinion...which is that unless there are absolutely massive changes/signings which are about to complete, then players shouldn't be coming out saying that we'll win the league. It's already got the gullible lot on here believing it which in turn means that things will turn nasty when come january (and people's "hopes" are dashed) when we realise, once again, that spunking money away on the reserves and in areas where we don't need strengthening is NOT going to help us catch up with the big three.

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread in regards to Torres' comments:
I'm sure it was said in the heat of the moment. Doubt he had time after being asked the question to sit down and make a list of all the evidence, put it into "positive" and "negative" columns, and then come out with a reasonable conclusion.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion fella however I trust the footballing knowledge of our manager a hell of a lot more than yoursOriginally posted by carheex View PostI'm hardly "mouthing off"!

Just because we aren't looking like signing the likes of Eto and Villa doesn't mean the likes of Keane and Barry wont improve us. It's not as if we finished 30 points behind United, Chelsea and Arsenal last season so to say we need absolutely massive changes is being a bit of a drama queen.
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

With the signings we are looking to make this Summer I would like to think we can win the league but in all honesty I do not expect that UNLESS Rafa does not rotate the spine of the team too much.
My prediction for the coming season is a genuine fight till the death for 4th place."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

You don't have to be the best team in Europe to win the Champions League, you just have to get the right results in the right matches.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostIt's a sad day when our own supporters stop believing !
who thought we could win the Champions League in 2005 !?!?
A good start and you just don't know with Liverpool !!
To win the Premiership you have to be the best team in the Premier league, we're a long way off that.
Sure, we may sign 2-3 world class players in the positions where we are weakest, but all the indicators are that we're skint.
It is indeed a sad day, but there have been many over the last 18 seasons

So your opinion that we’re not good enough is more valid than the actual players who think we are?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

In fairness to The Kid, how devastated would we be if he denied all possibility of winning the league this or any other year, especially as he's probably going to have a massive hand (or boot) in achieving it if we did...
His armband proved he was a RED. Torres, Torres.

No, not Citeh, just SpursOriginally posted by Pacman View PostI've just noticed this post.
So Spurs and City may be a threat to us? How many points did they finish behind us last season?
Someone else thought Citeh would be a threat, not me.
Spurs finished 30 points behind us last season. But they've made dramatic improvements, not least in their manager
