unexpected delight on LFC TV

didn't work today due to the bad weather,nobody home so pigging out and tidying up at the last minute was the order of the day and of course watching the tele, 60 minutes with david speedie on lfc tv didn't grab my imagination but thought i would give it a go, glad i did excellent insight from a player that some thought kenny had signed as a joke. i wont ruin it watch it you wont be disappointed. he certainly speaks his mind and his love for the club is undoubted
and his dislike for others is also.

souey came in and basically said to him and a few others - jan molby being one that he didnt rate them and they would be left to rot in the reserves

he also mentioned that 7/8 players all had the same injury problems due to changing the way they trained - my physio told me the same - he was at liverpool at that time

i have never been a fan of speedie but he surprised me with his hatred of the man i still think is the greatest liverpool midfielder i ever saw

Interesting stuff, that, cheers. I can understand why Souness didn't rate Speedy, and we know he wasn't one to mince his words either. Having said that, didn't rate Molby I used to love Big Jan and ever since I was a kid used to try to mimick his long range passing - I practiced it for ages. To this day I don't think I've ever seen a better passer of the ball. Given the ****e hardmen types that Souness brought in (Stewart, Dicks etc) I'm begining to think the man seriously had a screw loose.

Re the injuries, I do remember around that time (circa 1992) we had an absolutely terrible run with injuries, which precipitated the likes of Redknapp and McManaman and other youngsters becoming regulars in the team. Not surprising to hear it was down to Souness' methods. I seem to recall Beardsley and Houghton complaining about the training under Souness long after they left.

I feel uncomfortable with the thought of a Liverpool legend and one of the greatest ever players to play for this club to be criticised on the club's own tv channel.
