I would say Babel and Lucas fall into the potential category, I am hoping for a big contribution from both of them this season.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI'd add Babel to that list too. Potentially anyway.
In Sami, Yossi, Kuyt, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Finnan we have good quality squad players.
I'm very excited about our youngsters and reserves. I don't buy the argument that they never get a chance, because comparison with the old system we had is meaningless. The best we could manage in the past was to bring through the likes of Warnock and Guthrie who are decent, top half players, but not good enough for us. The new batch we have is the most talented collection of youngsters I can ever remember Liverpool having, they are on a totally different level to the Mellors and Partidges of the past.
I can't really comment on the other new signings, but here's hoping.
I would still love to see another top class creative wide player, but I have to say the playing and coaching staff we have at Liverpool from the youth up to the first team is the best I have seen since 1990."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

he looks very lean too for a guy who used to look a bit tubby at times. shouldn't have any problem with rafa's draconian training schedule.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

Yeah thats not what i was having a go at.. my problem was you said something along the lines of signing players from tottenham.Originally posted by Darth Marty View PostGet ****ed. My opinion would not have changed had he signed for the scum, the arse or barca or madrid, its simply too much money for someone who in my opinion is just a good player. British prices are mentally absurdly high at present and there is not a single doubt in my mind we could have done better had we gone foreign. Of course I understand there may be a settling in period with imports but thats not always the case. Not a single transfer is guaranteed to be a success so I find it laughable that some of you are saying i need my head read, hes going to be a huge success etc etc. Im not saying hes going to be a failure, i have never said that simply because I know hes a good player and with a better team theres every chance he will be a success, im just uncomfortable with the huge fee and the fact that every british team is being raped with their prices lately.
Look back at my posts and ive said all along that I like Keane as a person, im just not convinced that Robbie Keane is all that.
So, my friend, only time will tell so at present all of this is just opinion and as such neither right or wrong.
also he's not british

Pleased that we've signed him, he's a good player and ive no doubt he will do well here and be very popular with the fans.
He's not the player to bring us No 19, we're still 3 players short of that, and quite honestly i think Keane is being talked up far too much on all the Liverpool boards ive seen recently. He's a good player but imo not as good as he's being made out. He'll work well with Torres and will give us other options up front, what he wont do is give us width which we desperately need and i would have preferred a couple of wide players rather than this signing.
I wouldnt be in the least bit surprised if he was put out on the right in Kuyts position. If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long
