Call me stupid but I was hoping for a game just like this before the league season starts! Just what we needed, a literal and physical kick up our lazy backsides. :-) Bring on Sunderland, they can't foul Torres and Benayoun any worse than they've already been fouled. Makes Rafa's job of firing people up and straightening noses much easier.

I was a ****ing knock about against one of the strongest teams in this round for us almost still a fitness game for them they game of there lifes and a chance to make history. For us we were missing out captain, playing a new young mid field player, giving our new striker his first competitive start along with a new left back, they are a good side ... we were not up to scratch but... at full strength in Anfield we will beat them

Not totally missed yet, we are still slipping around on it at the moment imo, hopefully we'll regain control of our footing at Anfield, and put it in the bin.

Why the **** are people singling out Alonso? I think he played alright. First competitive game and we've gone away and battled for a draw. He made some nice first time passes and tried to quicken up the tempo

Like I said before, I don't think we have the players to play a 4-4-2 formation. We don't have adequate players on the wing and that's why we don't play that formation very well.

I ain't happy with the performance, but we are Liverpool FC one of the bestteams in the world, and we don't expect to trample over every team we play.

If you can understand that, then you're getting it.

We didn't lose, and at this moment, that's all that counts.
