Try to be realistic about our chances...

If we don't get a left winger what do you think about our chances this year?

No, but we can be 2nd easily narrowing the gap.

premier league and champions league. i think without a decent out and out left winger we will get knocked out of the league cup in the 4th round though which will be dissapointing
    in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

        depends on the left winger

For me it doesn't have to be just a "winger" . I think we need Gareth Barry and a left footed attacking player. With these 2 players I think the title is a real possibility. Without we will be playing for 2nd or 3rd spot.
          Dare we believe

Since when have we needed a left winger. Its a Right Winger, and the same formation week in week out.

Basically every season of late if I think logically about it I would have made us 3rd favourites (joint with Arsenal) and a long way behind the two above us. I think the addition of Keane and Dossena with no real players lost from last season would put us lightly closer in the odds to the favourites. A left sided player would close the gap further but I really think that the experience of the top two is a massive advantage.

We should have the ammunition now to at least put up a more viable challenge.

Step forward Rafa and his pointless Square peg in round hole

Don't agree with that - he had a great season playing out there 2 seasons ago, just start him out there and give him a licence to roam.

We can make a proper challenge for the league but we need some tactical consistency and a top class left winger.

think we are one or two players short still unfortunately - pissed off at not getting barry. would have brought a lot to the team in my opinion

2nd or third 10 points plus off the top

The problem is that there are no left wingers/right wingers available who can make such an impact in their first year in the prem. lg. Perhaps there was bentley...!!!
