No doubt they MIGHT be good choices, but you would be calling for there heads if they didnt win the league in 2 years time as that seems the time limit you will allow a manager.Originally posted by Rashid View PostI said Frank Rijkaard, Bernd Shuster is a good shout too... Hiddink is a safe pair of hands as well.

I think they would all play better football and that will improve us by 10% straight away. Who was Wenger and what had he won before Arsenal? As I said I like the Swansea manager too... he could be a good shout in the future with a Director of Football above him.Originally posted by gerbin11 View PostAnd none of whom would be a step forward, none are good enough, none are an improvement. Is that what you want just a safe pair of hands?

I don't EXPECT manager to win it, I expect a league challenge and not have to wait 5 years for it.Originally posted by Woobus View PostNo doubt they MIGHT be good choices, but you would be calling for there heads if they didnt win the league in 2 years time as that seems the time limit you will allow a manager.

Believe me I hate to say this but here goes.Originally posted by Rashid View PostI don't EXPECT manager to win it, I expect a league challenge and not have to wait 5 years for it.
Rashid tell that to United fans who waited how long for Ferggie to win a league championship and then went on to win 10 of them in 15 seasons.

In 2004 would you have gone that Benitez guy from Valencia? 2 league titles in 3 seasons, a European trophy thrown in, there is no chance he will take as long as Houllier to produce a title winning squad.Originally posted by Rashid View PostGuus Hiddink or Frank Rijkaard would be my choice... and I'd have the Swansea manager Matinez (?) in as assistant.
The thing is, you cannot say what will happen, but when you look at the end of Houllier's reign, Liverpool were finished. From our kids to our academy we really were a club in crisis.
On every level Rafa has turned this team around, we have youth players to be excited about and a fantastic squad of players.
Rashid you talk about the extenuating factors that made Rikjaard's job so hard at Barca, while completely ignoring the open warfare that Rafa faced for much of last season. I feel every now and again you make sense, but your general tone is so ridiculously negative and one-sided that people can't take you seriously.
I agree with Rage (yes yes I said it, I agree with Rage
) that Rafa must mount a challenge this season, but Rafa has said he expects us to do just that.
Every manager has his faults, but going into our 5th season there is no one I would rather have in charge that Rafa Benitez."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

I have no doubt about Rafa tactical abilities. But today's report on Alonso by Tony Barrett tells me how poor Rafa is as a man manager. I know he does not like to praise players, etc but i feel that such a treatment, and also to Finnan who are both senior and well-liked members will have a negative effect on the team. He needs to get his team playing both for the club and also for him as well so that they can collectively punch above their weight. You are seeing that in Cheski at the moment. We going to win #19th!!

No offense but I'd argue that.Originally posted by rage View Postthe league table doesn't lie or is that clueless too. strange name for a supporter of a team where skill is valued at the bottom of the list of necessary attributes i'm thinking
If you think we play like Houlliers team I have evidence there is a clear lack of thinking going on.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Lol, he's so poor at man-management and player relations that apparantly if he were to leave the likes of Torres, Gerrard and a whole host of other players would follow him out the door...well, if you believe internet rumours and tabloid speculatio that is, which apparantly you do as you seem to believe todays reports??
