I'm a 31 year old and would expect myself to be above all the childish behaviour but have had to rewrite a few posts due to silly remarks. I am all up for talking about football but when the same people say the same stuff in every thread it gets very annoying and makes you want to attack back.
That's exactly my point. I struggle more, I'm a bona fide asshole, so it's even more difficult for me to contain myself

Kuyt would have worked out just fine if played in the right position with the right striker. When he and Crouch were allowed to play as a pair they did well, winning 12 of 15 starts. Only games they lost were against Arsenal, one of which was excusable due to a crap midfield.

But Rafa wanted a different approach most of the time. He wanted a more "mobile" attack in that he paired Kuyt with Bellamy, only Kuyt didn't have the pace to keep up with Bellamy most of the time.

Then last season he had Kuyt playing as a link man between midfield and attack, again Kuyt struggling as he's just not creative enough to do that, nor fast enough to bomb forward and support.

Finally he moved him out to the right where Kuyt acted as good defensive cover for the various RBs but earned plaudits more for his hard work then end product. He scored a couple of goals in the CL but both were bundled home efforts, not things of beauty that were the result of him being involved in sweeping moves.

But that's the crux of the matter for me. Kuyt wasn't terrible playing as a frontline striker alongside the right type of partner. But Rafa moved him around and played him out of position and now he's seen as some utility player rather than anything close to what is really required for the team.

I firmly believe that Kuyt could have scored a lot more goals for us if we'd used him better. The same of Crouch. The same of Bellamy. And I'm starting to feel the same way about Keane, that he'll never really show us his quality so long as Rafa insists of playing in the formation we do with Keane in a role that is alien to him.

It's one thing to take a young player, or a veteran, and shape him into something else that uses his talents to their fullest. In Rafa's case I see too many examples of him taking well developed players and forcing them into positions they aren't really suited to - especially in attack.

And the majority of posts are by the same 2/3 posters!

u know i disagree with loads of people here but on the whole its really civil. no idea about rashid, he seems to carry history with him but this is the rafa thread. as for me i don't want to even talk about another manager, rafa surely must learn from his mistakes in previous seasons and like most if not all on here i would love to see him lift the title this season. but if we can't reflect and be self critical amongst friends then where can we?

And it's the same 2/3 that seem to resort to insults back to the other same 2/3.

Whilst I disagree with a lot of what you and Sarb post at least on the whole you try and argue your point in the correct manner.

If he wasn't so close to the players and they took advantage I think he would have won a couple of League titles. Oh and if James had his brain switched on most of the time
